subaru gas mileage

so i am looking for a new car for my mom, cheap but good gas getter,
got a call from a buddy who has a 1990 subaru legacy wagon,(not sure if it is outback or not) does anyone know what kind of mileage these things get?

Won't be an outback. To old. It will get no better than 25mpg. Low 20's will be consistent.

thats kinda what i figured, its old and awd so it wouldnt get to good of mileage.

Plus the early EFI isn't as efficient. My 99 outback gets best 26mpg. I typically average 24mpg in my commute. Not horrible, but not best.

ha ha ha i wass thinking the same thing, went to look at this car and it was no where near the 800 my buddies neibor was asking for it...they figureed is a subaru and they are the craze now so it should be worth at least 1000.

this thing made the one gabe drives look like a million bucks

Hey Ricky,, I got a 92 Loyal wagon and get just under 30mpg,, love that little thing..when you push the 4 wheel drive button the rear is locked, I also have studded snow tires on it, nothing can catch it,, except a snow mobile.:beer:
