Tahua garbage pickup Dec. 5 & 6

Saturday afternoon/evening we are having a potluck feast. Please bring a dish! :corn:

The clean up is this weekend...SAT 12/05 - SUN 12/06!!!!

Click HERE for driving directions to Oak Patch @ Tahuya State Forest.

Click HERE for a DNR map of the trail system.

The clean up should officially last from 10am - 2pm each day...followed by a potluck on SAT. Be sure to bring your favorite dish! The Wheelers of Washington Association (WOW) will put out signs on Elfendahl Pass Road & have a booth set up by the dumpster in Oak Patch. While you are at the work party, please use one of the 4 Honey Buckets donated for the event...this will keep us from filling up the DNR bathrooms & save them money in the long run. It is pretty expensive to have them pumped.

We will want to separate the junk as it comes back to the dumpster area:

  • All tires will all be picked up by Les Schwab in Belfair for free!
  • Scrap metal can be taken to a recycler & earn someone some extra cash
  • Appliances (computer, tv, refrigerator) will cost extra to dispose of...let's keep those items separate
  • Everything else can be tossed into the dumpster
Be sure to stop by the WOW booth & sign up as a volunteer...putting your name down will make sure you are covered in case of injury & make sure we get credit for your volunteer hours. We will also have membership applications available.

See everyone tomorrow morning :awesomework:

There was TOO MUCH trash out there. The 4x4 trail had the normal beer cans/bottles, mudflaps, and misc. garbage. The majority of that garbage came from the paved roads, from losers who chose not to go to the dump:looser:. I had a good time and was nice meeting some new people.

Once again it shows that the real offenders aren't the users, its the people who dont come there unless to dump their ****. With out our help the parks would be closed, I hope the powers to be see how hard we all work. The DNR and Forest Service guys where grateful, they are under staffed.
Had a great day!:awesomework:

There was even a piano we recycled

It was great seeing everyone helping out :awesomework:
