Tahuya

Yeah, those are all closures to the ATV/MOTORCYCLE trails. I was there last Sunday, and all the truck trails are open.
And since all the restructuring and logging, you can't get to that downhill section from the trailhead, rooinator. They have done log "guardrails" in sections that they don't want you in.
In the past out there, you made your own trail........well, cause the trtails sucked.

so it's perminately closed? or just till the logging and reconstruct is over???

No, logging is done for now, so everything is open. I guess there are some ATV and Motorcycle closeures still, but those dont affect us. Come and play next weekend and check it out. I'll be out with the Cherokee and my quad.

I do believe that climb is closed for good. Too much trail destruction to leave it open I think. You know, tread lightly and all. :D

have no fun at tahuya and all :booo: :booo: i remember that was the most difficult natural hill there... or at least when i was there 4 or 5 years ago...

Your thinking of yellow jacket hill. Well now we have 3 hill's which is interesting if you dont take the 4 line choices , we have some new lines that kinda get off camber. Plus there is a hill next to yellow jacket which is now known as broken axle hill. It likes to eat up brake lines, axles, and body panel's.

Like I said earlier. If you in 2wd all the time at Tahuya, then you dont know the place well enough to say its too easy. Yeh its easy but if you challenge yourself and test the limits of your rig, it can be quite fun. (buggy's need not apply:redneck: ) Hell most of my body damage and breakage has happened at Tahuya. All 3 flop's have been at Tahuya.

Caddy I saw your rig at mud lake on sunday. Did you happen to see all of us trying to climb that mud ledge? Well no-one could make it up, so I went down, Almost on my lid.

I dont know, Yeh Tahuya is easy but, follow me and you'll have a blast. :awesomework:

fawking summer time?? Man thats lame, you need to go now when its nice and muddy.

Yep, that pic was taken last sunday. I was with a group of about 8 rigs. I think I remember seeing you at the end of the rock piles, But you took off.

I think I passed you just as you were heading into Belfair.. anyhow it looked like your rig, maybe early/mid afternoon... I dunno, around 1 or 2.

Tom's rig worked really well for a first time out wheelin. Needed a little EFI tunin', but the drivetrain looked really good.

I found a really suspect brake hose on mine, and a wicked vibration while cruising 60 mph. Haven't really had it on the road since last fall, been trailerin' it everywhere. It's good to drive it, just to drive it.

There was a pretty trick Zuk-buggie thing on 40s or so out on the rock pile. Tom took a reasonably hard line thru it and didn't hang up at all. Then I guided him thru the garden, and did well there too.

It's funny. I used to know that area sooooo well, and I go there so seldom now, it feels like I'm all turned around from where I thought I was.

I remember seeing your jeep. I knew it looked familiar. I just couldn't figure out who it was. :redneck:

Alrite well i did some digging looks like there are closures going on up there rite now. None of which are perminant by the sounds of it the state is going in and cleaning up some possible hazards to riders. and removing and redoing some access roads and such
HERES THE LINK

The second one is the only one still closed, and it's a lack of funding. A bridge is undercut and they don't trust it (though it hasn't gone anywhere) and they don't have the resources to get it fixed.

that sucks, cause the overland trail is a blast to run with my atv... :booo: hope they fix the bridge by july... when i move to gig harbor. but the new narrows bridge they can just sink...
