I wanna know why people like Boomer and such are SO hurt by someone flying a flag.. Like Matt said.. who cares, it's a free country. And it isn't hurting anyone.. Now if the guy is out back hanging black guys.. ok now you have something to ***** about.

Can I say that?

The funny part that no one brought up is why is 2 pwr somthing or other so distrought and torn up by this one symbol. are we having some mommy daddy issues. Is this a deeply seeded childhood kinda thing, are you ashamed of your deep dark inbred heritage. I think this has something to do with it. Express your anger.

It's okay pick on others to make you feel better about your life that will teach mommy and daddy that you hated your childhood in the trailer park.

Like I said a while back, Im not offended by it at all, I just happen to wonder if they do it because they have a real meaning for it, or if its just pop culture wearing into them since so many things now days incorperate that as meaning "country" or "redneck" or what have you. Hell, look at Lary The Cable Guy, he wears one.

Similarly I wonder about the "punk" kids in HS who wear the flag of Germany. Not the swastika flag, but the actual country flag.

nowdays nothing means the same as it should. Everything now is so pc and don't hurt the children it's unbelievable. The "rebel" flag as linked by somone else was not a flag to signify slavery, racism or the like granted most of the people that lived in those parts where.

In the South, the nickname "Stainless" was held to refer to "the unspotted virtue and honor of Southerners and their fight for independence from the tyranny and aggression of northern states." The flag is often referred to as the "'Stonewall' Jackson Flag" due to its inaugural use of covering General Stonewall Jackson's coffin at his funeral.

How is this statement racist sounds to me like people who don't agree with what there goverment is doing to them. If you tell me you agree with everything that the goverment imposes on all of us as nation then you can call this white trash or redneck. Other wise it was one person expressing how they feel.

I'll support anything that gets away from the liberal **** pools of retarded nature that now make up the vast majority of the coasts...

I proudly embrace many of values displayed by those represented by this flag

You don't like it? Kiss my fawkin ass :flipoff:

I'll be glad to tell your dumb ass to your face as well... :D

You call me a wannabe redneck, I'll call you another lost, soulless hippy **** :flipoff::haha::haha::haha:

They were talking about a different flag with this statement. The one that was all white with the crossed blue in the upper left corner. Just FYI.

Living in Virginia for so many years, I came to understand what it meant.

"Pride not Prejudice" to sum it up in so few words.
I can see that, but what I don't get is pride of what? Im not trying to start and argument, Im just curious what people who display this flag are proud of? I mean, I know that it doesnt really symbolize slavery and segregation and all that, but the flag does in fact symbolize the South, who were rebellious towards the North, right? So why would anyone be proud that the South rebelled from the North? Or is it simply that they themselves are proud that they feel rebellious? I'm seriously asking a question, so dont think Im trying to be a smart ass please.

I guess maybe its because I just don't see people going around flying the original battle flag of the US as a symbol of being rebellious towards the south, whats the catch on flying the battle flag of the south, or the Navy Jack of the south?

~T.J.

Flying the "rebel" flag to me say that you a willing to stand up for what you beleive in and dont necessarly go with the "soft" laws the the U.S. has allowed to be put into justice. The flag doesnt meen racisim, that is just the colored folk play that card again. I'm not from the south but a lot of the time I wish I was. I have the misconception that in the south, they dont put up with the political softness that we do up here. I beleive in harsher laws like in the old western movies. That flag tells me that justice will served quickly and my tax money wont be spent defending a known rapist or child molester or theif. I guess I think the "rednecks" would just off those people to get them out of society. I guess this flag has a lot of different meanings to me, but racism is not one of the. I have been told befor that my veiws are ignorant and that may be true.

Fly the flag if you want. Its not for me, but I got no problem with it. I have friends that have them.

One thing I gotta ask though, does this tat look like a racist symbol? I saw someone say something about the Iron cross earlier.

I didn't know keltic knots and the indipendent symbol were related to the iron cross, but hey, anyone can see what they want in a symbol.

As far as the Rebel flag goes, its a pride thing. Fly the flag that you believe in, weather it stands for the old ways of the south or the honor of your family being from the south. Its not in anyone elses intrest to tell someone what they can or can't be proud of.

Its not supposed to be a racist tat at all. Just askin what people may see in it.

I can not listen to all this pissin and whinnin anymore. 2pwrlftrs4u is not gay,
who fawkin cares what the fawkin flag represents. Bottom line if you fly it fly it but people are gonna give you sh!t for it. The Hittler flag was changed from a oriental symbol so who care what that flag means if you fly it people will give you sh!t for it. Iron crosses are cool. They are medals awared to german soldiers for various things. Motorcycle gangs took the symbol and gave it a different meanning, if you like them sport them people will give you sh!t for it. the Jolly Roger was different for each individual pirate but the endstate of the pirate mentallity is to live free. If you like it fly it people will give you sh!t for it. That is why I love being american. I can piss all over you and it is my right as an american. The question is are you american enough to just turn the other cheek and not get pissed off every time someone gives you Sh!t for what you believe?

And tats are cool :D

colored....huh...I'm kind of a light tan color...might be due to the fact I'm covered in hair or that I'm 1/8 Native American or both.

what color are you? :haha: :haha: :haha:

the color that is not offended by the flag and is always being accused of being racist. If you where confused about the "colored folk" comment, let me clarify it for you. I was refering to the majority of the black community.

no confusion here.

BTW - you just stepped on yur ****, again, but hey it's yur ****:corn:

glad i could start such a wonderful discussion although I wish I would have known about it earlier. As for my meaning its a rebel flag not a confederate flag. I just use this one cause most people don't know what the black flag w/a red star is.

I could care less if they want to broadcast being losers from a pro-slavery nation that got their asses handed to them on a silver platter. Same with the retards that display swastikas and iron crosses. Free speech and all.

But the display of the rebel flag is not usually about "heritage", even in the south. More often than not it's about either racism, ignorant youthful rebelliousness, or white trash pride.

X whatever number were up to.

Dear group;
Seeing as how I seem to be in the company of a group of professors on this forum, I therefore feel compelled to add my own observations as to the history and usage of symbols, banners and flags, in order that I might help in clearing up a few common misconceptions.

First, let's review the swastika. The swastika has been used as a religious symbol throughout the ages by various nations and races and it can be seen everywhere, from ancient Hindu temples in India to medieval cathedrals in Europe. Exactly why Adolf Hitler chose the swastika as his partys' symbol has been lost to history, but there is one likely expalnation for it use as the Nazi partys' principal emblem.

In pre-Christian Europe, virtually all tribes throughout Gaul, which is where modern Germany is situated, shared a commonly held belief system in which multiple deities were worshipped. Without exception, these deities all shared a common theme and only their names and to a much lesser extent, their roles were changed. Most Germanic tribes worshipped a group of deities which included Odin, Frey, Thor and many other gods. It was from Thor, who was the god of war, which the swastika most likely originated from. The runic symbol representing Thor was a hammer flying through the air, to represent Thor's hammer that he wielded to strike down his foes. In order to proceed forward, we must now take a step backwards from WWII and examine WWI for just a moment.

World War One saw the coming of a new and terrible type of combat, trench warfare and it quickly turned the battlefields of Europe into a bloody stalemate, with entire armies being slaughtered and not a single inch of real estate having been won or lost. The citizens of the participating countries quickly became alarmed at the huge losses in manpower and in order to distract their minds, the media of the day began glamorizing and romanticizing a new type of warrior, the air ace.

The German media especially embraced their new air aces, as Germany was rapidly sliding into a severe depression and shortages of virtually everything were beginning to become commonplace along with the spiraling value of the German mark. One of these German war aces in particular named Werner Voss caught the eye of the German media as he was young, dashing and brave and he had 48 confirmed victories to his credit, which was good enough to become Germany's 3rd highest ace, with Manfred Von Richtofen (the Red Baron) in 1st with 80 kills and Ernst Udet in 2nd place with 60 kills. In fact, Voss and Richtofen often publicly admitted to the press of the rivalry between them as it seemed to add a heroic flavor to their deeds.

As was typical during the times, Voss chose his own color scheme for his Fokker Tri-plane and his personal livery was black with silver trim. Along the sides of his fuselage, behind the cockpit he had painted a swastika and there are many old photographs and newspaper articles depicting him standing proudly beside his craft with the swastika prominently displayed. He met his untimely end on 23 September 1917, after singlehandedly engaging 7 aircract of the British 56 Squadron, B flight. One notable fact is that all 7 members of B flight were British war aces in their own right. He was shot down by Arthur Rhys Davids after having engaged all seven of the enemy for an estimated 10 minutes and was suffering from what appearing to be a problem with his propellor.

And so it is widely thought that a young Corporal Adolf Hitler, in the Kaiser's Imperial Army, after having read of Voss' exploits and having views the photos, remembered the swastika and elected to use it as his party's emblem. And it came to pass that Werner Voss is credited for having revived the swastika and by using it as a personal emblem during WWI, unwittingly turned it into one of the most feared and hated symbols of modern history. And ironically enough, Werner Voss was also Jewish.

Your friend;
LAMAR

You whiny pussies think way too fawkin much thats a fact... I have a rebel flag up in my garage so what? It has always been a symbol for taking a stand in what you believe despite what the establishment thinks about your point of view. Do I have a rebel flag tattoo or fly it outside for all to see? Nope, too many liberal cum dumpsters would have a heart attack trying to start a argument with me about my beliefs calling me a racist etc.

Those very same little *****es are the ones that get all bent out of shape when someone uses the n*gger word.. No I don't use it in standard conversations but if/when I do use it it has NOTHING to do with color.. It has everything to do with being a lazy useless person. Yea it was coined in usage towards blacks but like everything the true meaning is gone and its been used as a blanket term by the ignorant.

But thats just my two pennies.. Id say more but Im broke and can't afford more than that $.02... :flipoff:
