the road to the wall

From what I see in the photos that part of the road LOOKS like it might eat your rig. At least it is under the power lines. A prepared group can winch or tug the stuck rig out. The guy new to wheelin with a close to stock rig that tries that will be under the power lines where everyone can see him blow it. Better to let them learn that lesson there before they find a trail and get stuck like that in the middle of nowhere. A couple times now I have been airing up at the main parking lot and one or two guys on dirt bikes rode up to tell us a rig is stuck under the power lines. They were just spreading the word.

Regardless of how JK Kat's rig is built. I'll bet she wasn't doing 50 mph in 2hi when see hit the hole. That's my point I guess. Use the power lines to separate and train the inexperienced for whats to come.

I say no. Leave it the way it is. If there is a way around then there is a way around.

JK KAT I know you have a ruby with a winch and etc. . but every veichle has its limits!, and if I recall you have the stock bumper on the front still to???? those things stick out way to far if so!

People stop trying to change a trail everytime it gets harder!!!! There are plenty of trails at Reiter to keep everyone happy!!

my point is lets fix it before the route around it collapses into the hole and becomes part of the problem. i dont see what is so hard about looking ahead and seeing a possible issue in the future. that hole is just gonna keep getting bigger if nothing is done. why let it?

Step one. Fill your truck bed with some rock. (1/2 man and smaller) Avaliable EVERYWHERE at Reiter.

Step two. Dump rock in hole.

Step three. Congratulate yourself and have a beer.

I haven't seen this in person yet but if the bypass collapsed wouldn't it help fill in the hole? Granted it would be a huge mess with all the water present but mother nature usually fills in holes and ruts before you get to china, so long as people quit digging in the exact same spot.

I went up and saw the whole after I saw you just to see for myself. I went rigth through it with out a problem first off:awesomework: Second the area around it is wide enough for a fullsize to go buy:redneck:

third if and when somebody does tear the living hell out of it, it could be then known as maybe a GATE KEEPER???? I mean what is Past that?? BYS, SOL, the Tank trap, and well the a tree maze:cool: All of which require a fairly built rig to conguer and survive:beer: SO i think leave it and It will weed out those that dont belong back there to begin with:awesomework:

I just think letting it become its own little gatekeep might be a good thing:corn:
 
The biggest problem with that area right now and this is what people are forgetting to add into the equation:D

Not more then 2 months ago there was enough snow up the to burry Stealthrunner Mark M and myself well above or waiste:awesomework: And no there is maybe a foot or 2 tops, All that had to go somewhere, eventually the water will run off and dry and the whole will not be nearly as bad:awesomework:

At that same time I think maybe someone(I'll do it) should go up there with a shovel, some small pebble stone, and some small flexy water tubing, and make some outlets for all the problem areas:awesomework: Anybody think this would be a positive fix that wouldn't affect the overall wheeling of the area???????

Let me know cause I'll go up and do it this week:awesomework:

i have never been to where you guys are talking about but this sounds like a good idea, let it become a gate keeper but keep an eye on it and dont let some bunny huggin tree humper use it as an example to shut trails down, i agree with what some one else said, not exact words but pretty close " dont get all butt hurt when your rig does'nt make it up some trail any more, just move on to another trail and have fun", thats what wheelin is about right? havin fun with your freinds and or family.

First off, thank you, Taylor, for giving us folks a heads up. I know you are a good guy who loves this hobby as much as the next guy.

I personally have not been up there lately. Maybe I will have more to add after a visit, but for now, I say leave it. No disrespect, Taylor, but trails do evolve, and we should roll with it. I believe the vehicle should be built for the trail, not the other way around. Over at Naches, there is a very eroded area about half way up the Kaner trail, one of my favorites. Should I ***** and moan about how it has gotten, or try to tackle it with engenuity? Granted, I feel that a little help would lessen the impact on the area, and our image...

But, case in point, people are trying to shove monster fullsizes up and through very old, original, historic, and historically compact trails in the Naches area. I already see the impact. I might take a Ford Excursion through there next time.

Oh, and BTW, other than possible body damage, I do not feel that the Wall trail has been very challenging in the past. Taking a stock Suzuki Grand Vitara, and a very stock IFS Toyota through there was not challenging. Maybe now it will be a fun trail!

A part of me says fix it up some, due to the fact it really isn't a trail so much as it is a road to trails... but on the other hand the trail does start, about 1 mile back form that point....:eeek:

EDIT: like was said in my deleted post (horse****) I think it should be left the way it is, things evolve and change, for better or worse. Like i said before, like in the sand chasm it changes back and forth so many times, that is part of the fun of the trails, to a point obviously, otherwise it ends up looking like sac-up if not maintain in some respects.

Yup, bull****:cool: time to stop caring:haha:

I think the hole will smooth out too, it's soft enough material there, until it hits harder dirt or packed gravel, then an edge might form. i know there are a few holes that have that same issue...entry to sac-up...
