In the process of changing out my steering from hydro assist to full hydro using a single ended ram. I'm also installing a new tie rod using heims. I want to use flat washers on the heims so that it doesn't twist from the ram when turning. Will this be an issue?

I guess it comes down to if the heims still have enough travel to accommodate. That said, will washers even limit the heims or are they just going to max out at the same spot anyway, regardless of washers

Usually they will limit the heim body, then it will break the jam nuts loose.

Mounting the ram directly in line with the tire rod will keep it from trying to twist too much. If you do that you won't have much issue.

Are you using an ag ram with clevis ends, or a ram with heims on the end?

Looks like the ram will be in line with the tie rod. Its a PSC ram with heims.
