So, my daily driver is an 88 4runner. It is the 6cyl version with the crappy chain transfercase.
While driving around town, I will now get periodic binding as the transfer case pops into 4wd. Maybe it is a case of crappy auto hubs causing the driveshaft to spin which in turn engages the transfer case into 4wd. Who knows... wait YOU do. Now fill me in.
I figure at the very least, I can go to locking hubs. (P.S. Got some that will work? PM me) But is the issue that the case is just worn out? Does the selector shaft wear down? I dont feel any slop in the lever...
