Are the Toyota automatic transmission very desireable or strong? I have an 86 4x with auto parts truck and have given it thought about putting it in my Yota or maybe getting rid of it?

As is it is trash. If you want to do something cool with it take off the bellhousing, torque converter, TV cable, poil pan and filter mount then the wiring and solenoids. Now take the rest of it and toss it in the scrap bin that's all it's worth. :haha:
The parts you remove will go on a AW4 out of a cherokee with no mods to make it bolt up to an R series engine so you can run a 231 or 241 doubled with a 300, atlas or stak in the yota. You can also run a controller to lock it in gear and lock/unlock the converter at will.
I just put a a340/aw4-231-300 together for my yota, it should be the cats ass when it's done and if I don't have enough power I'll just pull the bellhousing off my 3.2l rodeo and use it to mate a l67 supercharged 3.8 into it.
