Will an extended cab short bed fit on a standard cab short bed frame(just the bed)?

The bed is off an 85 extended cab short bed and the truck i want to put it on is an 87 standard cab short bed. Are the mounts the same on the bed with them both being short beds or are the bed mounts different with one being an extended cab and on being a standard cab?

if u line up the wheel well, you're going to have a 10"(or so??) gap between the front of the bed, and the back of the cab. however much bigger the extra cab is, thats how much of a gap you would have.

shoot I found a good deal on a short bed off an extra cab and was wondering if it would fit but i guess i need to pass on the deal now.
