Heya guys, ive been reading some of the posts about trail conditions. It made me think... what about putting trails on cycles, have a trail open 3 years, then closed 3 years, give it try to regrow and heal up, then reopen it, if they cycled all the trails that way there would always be new trails opening up, or at least u havent been on for 3 years.
bet that would make the treehuggers happy...somewhat

just my 2cents,

I have thought about the same thing. the only problems are :
1) you would need to open at least 3 times the amount of trails
2) keeping people off the closed trails for 1 year, let alone 3
3) once a trail is closed what guarentee to we have that it will re-open

Can of worms that would lead to no trails... Too easy to keep a closed trail closed once the footing has been given.

i guess its a good idea in a perfect world, i think a lot more people would do the right thing if u told them why. like instaed of short signs that say 20(mph) the signs that say 20MPH when children are present work better, u slow down becouse u dont wanna get a kid stuck in your wheel well. if they would close down trails, say why and when it is going to reopen and where the new trail is at, i bet a lot more people would be happy.... but it only takes a few to **** it up for meny
