tranny question please help

so i was backing up going pretty slow at first then i hit the gas its starts going a little faster then the tranny makes a noise and pops out of gear

does any one know why it does this the tranny is a 4 speed

well, a later 5 speed would be much better. but its gonna be longer, so you will need to redo the Dlines. the early 5 speeds are shorter, but theyre not worth using either...

*i have NO idea if the early, short 5 speeds, are the same length as the 4speeds*
