Trying to winch/move a 28' motorhome.

It was parked a couple years ago and converted from LPG to gasoline but something went wrong and it never moved again because it backfired and blew the muffler off. Neighbors call the cops and harass the previous owners if even the hood is opened to check the battery.

It needs to be winched across @100+ feet of soggy lawn with a slight uphill then towed from Seatac to Lynnwood.

I bought a 3/4 ton Ford 4x4 (also on LPG) with class 4 hitch that I hope to use to move it to the road so a tow truck can haul it for me. Problem is the 12,000lb winch I wanted to get doesn't come with a hitch cradle mount and there aren't any rental winches.

Anyone have any ideas? Time is running out on the nice weather.

Agreed, the money spent on a winch and recovery gear and the hassle of trying yourself doesn't seem worth it especially since you'll need a wrecker to tow it anyway. The wrecker should be able to winch it safely in no time.

If you saw what it had to deal with... I wouldn't even drive my 4x4 in there. I bought a Harbor freight 18K Badlands winch (on for $300 this weekend) and we have enough 3/8" cable to reach a big tree trunk (about 5 feet across the base but cut off 20 feet from the ground) through a pulley and then to my truck. I'll be chaining the pickup's front to another tree stump. With various thick chunks of plywood to put under the tires it should hopefully roll close enough to hard ground that a straight winching can get it out.

Another glitch in the plans though. I just noticed some severe cracking in the sidewalls of all the tires (it's sat 6 years since the previous owner had a heart attack) There are minimum 10 ply so Les Schwab they should be okay for a little distance (like across the yard) but not to trust them on the highway.

Does Pete's have a flatbed that can handle this brute?
