I used to go up for the Island Rock Crawl every year out of Sooke. Very pretty country, and fun trails. It was always one of my favorite work assignments.

The trails around Shawnagan lake are... but they have been closed off for active logging...

That's why we are running around sooke. And no, if I weren't also visiting friends... it wouldn't be worth the trip for the stuff we ran so far. But it was fun. We pretty much just explored today.

Today: We went down an old trail that hadn't been run in like a decade... we really weren't breaking new trail... though it looks like it with all the old brush..
