I bought a w56 for my 79 Toy. It is a forward shift model. So the silly shifter plate is one piece for both the trans and tcase. Im putting top shift cases behind it. So to ditch that silly tcase shifter thats on the tranny, is the easiest solution to just cut that part off and put a plate in its place?

i have that same deal in my sammy, i just made a cardboard template off the shifter and then cut it out and apply smoe rtv and viola! ir just bolt it on and cut the shifter off? or leave it there so it looks like twin sticks!

Im pretty cheap, so this is what I would do.

Everybody has a forward shift box laying around that they got for free or came with a tranny.
I would tear apart the forward shift that belongs behind it and make that the new range box.

Then reassemble the old back half of the forward shift box with the top shift range box and rails and presto=topshift box to sell for $100.
