Walker Valley....

Im home for the weekend and would like to run my junk for a few hours. Anyone heading up to Walker this morning? I can be loaded and on the road by 9am and be in the parking lot by 9:30.

Sweet, just trying to find a truck to rent so I can get my junk up there. May end up just renting a Uhaul....haha

Rented a Uhaul, loaded my chit and made it out there....place was packed so I anxiously started to unload my junk.... One problem, it wouldnt start. Crank crank crank....no fire. Kept cranking, finally fired up but wouldnt idle for more than 5 sec or so. Cranked again until it fired up and gave it some gas....pluh. Dead. I think I have a bad AFM. Strapped my junk back up and drove all the way back home.

Just waiting for my friend to get here with his known good AFM. If it works, Im gonna head back out there....hate renting a Uhaul for nothing. haha :;

Hey Mike,

Just got back from Walker....heres a run down of what happened....

We threw the known good AFM on and it fired right up....then died. Cranked it and gave it some gas, sputter, sputter, cough and vroom. Back to life. Let it idle just to make sure and then off we were, back to Walker. Get there and jump in the rig....crank crank crank, sputter, sputter (might have even farted a few times). Nothing. :eeek:

Took the top of the air cleaner off and stuck my hand into the AFM and opened the butterfly slightly as my friend cranked it over....Vroom. Held my finger on the butterfly for a few while I reved it with my other hand. Did this till it warmed up and released the butterfly on the AFM. Runs fine now....should I take it out onto the trails? Of Course! :awesomework:

Wheeled for a few hours without any issues....any idea whats wrong with it? Seems the problem only exists when the engine is cold. I did notice my check engine light (brake light on dash) came on while wheelin and when it did, it started running a little rough at idle.

Anyhow, as we were heading back to the trailer and my beautiful Uhaul tow rig...haha, I noticed the right front tire was real low on air so I flipped on the compressor and pulled over. Started getting the hose ready when I realized the compressor wasnt running....seems strange as it worked the whole time I was wheelin because I used my lockers off and on without any issues. Sooo, looks like compressor issues along with a cold start / check engine light on problem.

Im hoping I can bring it to you in 2 weeks when Im in town for Thanksgiving. Let me know if you can squeeze me in Mike....

Aw Hell Boosted, we saw you, you should have given us a shout did not know who you were. We were camped right there in the parking lot. We'll the other guys were. They are going to be up there tomorrow also. It' our belated Halloween Run.

Had a great day of wheeling. Uncle Stripey broke an axle trying to do an endo. Don't know what it is with him and flopping at Walker...:eeek: Pretty soupy but had a blast. There must have been 15 Subaru's up there. I am always amazed how they grow and multiply when you add water. I'll post pics later if I can find my usb cord for my camera.

Yeah, I was looking forward to meeting you guys, but with the day being hectic and just trying to get some wheel time in, we were not able to. I wish I didnt have to fly back to SC tomorrow morning otherwise I would be there again....lol

I will be back in 2 weeks tho and plan on spending a whole day out there.
