Washington Trail System Fund Raisers...

OK, the donation thread got me to thinking...

We could do some sort of fund raiser... Better yet, sell knowledge...:awesomework:


I wonder if we could sell stickers on e-bay with the proceeds being donated to said trail system??? This could be huge... If Joop was to help with the stickers for a good deal, we could sell them with the knowledge of where the money is going to... The buyer would receive a sticker for that trail system and a printed sheet with some info about the trail and what the funds would provide...

The stickers could read something like, "I support off road recreation at Walker Valley or Elbe Hills or Reiter Foothills..." They could have an off road tire in the middle with the words as a boarder...

These could be sold on all the local and national forums... Even craigslist...

This could generate a lot of funding and educate people at the same time... It will also create awareness as to the systems that people are supporting...

There's a lot of money being raised with bracelets... Wheelers love stickers, well most...

Any thoughts???

Show and Shine

Small Tire Run

Time Trial

BBQ

Driving Lessons (allow the public to drive a built rig around a basic course for a small fee)

And multiple ones of these could be combined.

Stickers would be cool but also have some that are not aimed at one place or another but just wheeling based. I could see these selling really well.

I think it would be cool to pull together an offroad car show type of thing.

Well, having the sticker for separate trail systems would keep the money going to the trail that is being sponsored... Each having it's own fund... I believe that people would respond to the system that they use... Some would respond to more than one and other will to all the systems... Not just these three, but many more if it takes off...

They did this with t-shirts for Yacolt Burn and did very well...

Also, these could be sold at events... Jeep racing, Mudfest, W.E.Rock, PNW4WDA Pick Up A Mountain, WOW Elbe Work Party and such...

In fact, this kinda was brought up at one of our meetings about area-specific stickers...not so much as a fundraiser, but just to show support for your area park...gonna have to bring this up again (only with a little twist!:;), soon!!!

I thought I would bring this up to the board members at our next meeting... If we could make it work then we'd ask the members to approve it... We are already a non-profit association with most everything needed in place...

I've thought about toys-4-tots x-mas tree run, canned food drive around thanksgiving turkey run, backpack run for school supplies, support our Vets runs and so on...

Selling things that people will usually buy anyways to raise money for our trails seemed like a no brainer to me...

RRR's are 501c3 as well....We've done alot of those drives you spoke of, and they all do help get the word out...some not so much as others, but it all helps to some degree!

I was thinking more like if there was also stickers that were just for wheeling and not just one area then people who are not from the area would buy them as well. When they buy them they just pick what area they want the funds to go to. That way if a guy in Texas liked one of the stickers he could buy one and then pick one area from the list for the donation to go to. He may have no idea where the area is and never ever wheel there but it would still help out, and wheelers are always up for helping areas even if they dont wheel them.

We pay taxes to pay the Politicians that screw us over. Now we need money so we can pay lobbyists so they can pay the Politicians more not to screw us over.

Great idea Luey, but I kinda agree with NotSoPC...we could make the sticker have broader appeal so that anyone could identify with the sticker: elbe, evans, reiter, naches, rimrock, dnr, fs, blm, washington, idaho, oregon, california, rubicon, hammers...you get the point.

Users could purchase a sticker & slap it on their wheeler, motorcycle, quad, 3wheeler, side by side, tow rig and/or daily driver...it would let others (non-wheeling public) know they support motorized recreation.

We could use the money to finance sweet obstacles at a number of orv trail systems.

I propose the sticker says I support motorized recreation

Anyone else have some ideas?

• trail clean up...pay for dumpster delivery & removal
  [*]improve trail signage
• feed hungry volunteers
• purchase items to raffle off at work parties/trail clean ups...provide incentive for folks to show up to a work party

Groups/clubs/individuals could request funding for their projects throughout the year.

Funding obstacles/projects was the first thing that came to mind... There's a need for money to rent equipment at Walker, this could have been a great help...

The DNR has funding for trail signage, maintenance and garbage disposal...

There's a lot of possibilities... Lobbying against restrictions...

I seem to remember that Wheelers of Washington paid over 300 bucks to have a dumpster delivered to Tahuya to support the clean up efforts...I know you have seen it, but others might want to check out the write up on the DNR blog:
