What are the issues with the 2003 cummins?

Don't mix up the cp3 and vp44..

don't they both have wiring and expensive as hell injectors? Don't they both eat **** if the lift pump dies/starves it? Don't they both have the ability to be trashed by some tard with a tuner?

Don't they have the same garbage ass front axle?

Lift pump doesn't take out the cp3 like it does the vp44. And no, they don't have the same axle. You can still kill a ppump with poor maintenance, it's just not as easy.

The cp3 trucks can have a few issues just like every other diesel. But there are a lot more benefits.

They do. I was comparing a vp44 truck to a CR truck.

Front axle u-joints
Injectors
Lift pump retrofit (unless already done)
Rebuild tranny
Minor hvac concerns


Other than that short but expensive list you
should be good.

By plan I mean just expect some of the above
