I am reading the whole thing. The point is you can't carry a loaded gun in a glove box...ever. You can't keep a loaded pistol on your dash board...ever. You can carry it in the glove unloaded or lock it unloaded if you're away from the car.
 
You're grasp of boolean logic is failing you... that line from the RCW outlines 3 ways to legally carry a loaded pistol in a vehicle.

i. CPL and "The pistol is on the licensee's person"

ii. CPL and "the licensee is within the vehicle at all times that the pistol is there"

or iii. CPL and "the licensee is away from the vehicle and the pistol is locked within the vehicle and concealed from view from outside the vehicle"

No it does not, it outlines two ways. i and ii are separated by a comma indicating both have to be met at the same time. ii and iii are separated by "or". All indicating you have to meet both i and ii or iii.
i= the pistol is on the person AND ii=the person is there with the pistol.
OR
iii=It's locked out of site unloaded.

Add grammar fail to boolean logic fail.

A list of "i or ii or iii" is written "i, ii, or iii" in the English language. This is further supported by the use of a colon to delineate the AND portion from the OR portion.

It's not a matter of grammar fail or English that's just the way Wa laws are written. You should research this yourself as it will make much more sence to you.

I have, and while I don't have copies of these documents, I have read of more than one letter from WA attorneys general that explicit state that the law reads as I have explained it.

I would hand over license, ins, cwp. respect seems to go both ways. if it ends up in front of a judge i would not expect the law to matter. i would imagine good bye gun and hello ticket. i can not afford that kind of lawyer.

I've been pulled over multiple times and had to get the registration where I keep a loaded handgun, not once have I ever been told that I can't carry it there, so I'll keep on doing it :D
 
Seems like the easiest thing to do would be shoot the cop, and all witnesses. That way you can be worry free and quit stressing about telling the cop you're carrying a gun

Oh that one....I have that PDF and the deal is it's from 1987. The law has been revised several times since 1987 so the AG's interpretation from back then isn't much good today. I can't post it here but I'll E mail it to someone who can post it.

It's up to you. The links a few pages back refer to people who have been arested for doing this but don't tell if they were found guilty or not. Myself I try to avoid the whole arest thing.:redneck:

As for it not being any good today... the revisions that have happened since then haven't changed the law. If you read the way the law is stated in that .pdf, it reads exactly the same. The only difference is using letters instead of numbers for the OR part.

Carrying firearms.

</B>(1)(a) Except in the person's place of abode or fixed place of business, a person shall not carry a pistol concealed on his or her person without a license to carry a concealed pistol.

(b) Every licensee shall have his or her concealed pistol license in his or her immediate possession at all times that he or she is required by this section to have a concealed pistol license and shall display the same upon demand to any police officer or to any other person when and if required by law to do so. Any violation of this subsection (1)(b) shall be a class 1 civil infraction under chapter 7.80 RCW and shall be punished accordingly pursuant to chapter 7.80 RCW and the infraction rules for courts of limited jurisdiction.

(2)(a) A person shall not carry or place a loaded pistol in any vehicle unless the person has a license to carry a concealed pistol and: (i) The pistol is on the licensee's person, (ii) the licensee is within the vehicle at all times that the pistol is there, or (iii) the licensee is away from the vehicle and the pistol is locked within the vehicle and concealed from view from outside the vehicle.

(b) A violation of this subsection is a misdemeanor.

(3)(a) A person at least eighteen years of age who is in possession of an unloaded pistol shall not leave the unloaded pistol in a vehicle unless the unloaded pistol is locked within the vehicle and concealed from view from outside the vehicle.

(4) Nothing in this section permits the possession of firearms illegal to possess under state or federal law.

Logically, it would read:

If A and B then C. "A" is having a CPL. "B" is i, ii, or iii, as listed in the RCW. "C" is you can legally have a loaded pistol in your vehicle.

A AND (i OR ii OR iii) = C

For C to equal 1... (i.e., to have a value of TRUE) A and B must both also have values of 1. A is easy... you have a CPL, A = 1. B = 1 is at least one of i, ii, or iii has a value of 1.

Clear as mud?

I got a D in algebra in highschool...

I got a D in philosophy in college....

I pack a loaded gun with me

I USUALLY keep it on my person just because I have always been unclear if I have to in a vehicle or not... if it is not on my person, it is where it can BE on my person if I see lights in the mirror...

That said, I would like to know if I have to or not, because sometimes it is just uncomfortable...

Keep reading up on commas as there's lots more but like I said it's not an English thing it's how laws are written. If they break the rules of English I doubt there's a law against that.:haha:
Whatever. Everyone can believe what they want and pay the piper if need be. Lots of people have been arested for this and because "some guy on the net said it was OK" isn't going to be the strongest defence.:cheer:

What if I was a taco wagon?

I would be driving my place of bizz, so would I still need a CWP to pack in the burrito bus?
