I think it's the SM465 that you run behind a 350, right? It has somethin' like a 4.8 granny gear? Then you can bolt in a NP203 or NP205?

Which spline do you need? Does it need to be a top loader?

It is.

Would a 2 wheel drive, 10 spline, top loader tranny work in my truck or do I have to find a 4x4 tranny?

it has a 6. something granny

I have a adapter to go from a 465 to a atlas if you ever upgrade

How hard is it to change out the output shaft? How much is the 4x4 shaft? Is it worth the swap for a $75 tanny?

I have a SM465 married to a 203, perfect for a 203/205 doubler. $400 for both and shifters, bell, clutch and flywheel.

I am not certain but I thought the adapter wont fit on the 4x2 version.

$75 is a fair price for someone neding a 2x4 tranny. I think you would benifit from finding it all together. at $75 for the 2x4 tranny then a 4x4shaft is needed, you need a 4x4 version to rob the shaft from. wouldnt it be easier to just leave the 4x4 one together. the 2x4 is a good spare/backup or good for parts if you already have the combo in a rig. it will add up quick if you piece it out for example= $75 tranny, $100 np205, $100 adapter, shifter?, $125 clutch, $40 flywheel, $40 bell housing. thats $480 (these are just avg. you might get em cheaper or not) and still needing labor to convert the 2x4 tranny:booo: . get it all so you have no surprises.:awesomework:
