Wire size ?

.035 works pretty well all around, i will weld sheet metal with 0.035, but i dont have to cause i got a TIG :flipoff:

045 for most welding 1/4 to 3/4 of a inch or 030 for the smaller stuff. But it also depends on other factors like your type of wire... I like to use tri mark 777 dual shield for most welds

Depends on the gas, Co2 .035 is good and a mixed go .030 or 023 depending on what you weld. The small wire is expensive because you spool out more per minute but you can spray arc at a lower volt out put.

I personally like the .030 on a mixed gas, makes a good nice clean weld and can spray arc at 18 to 20 volts depending on the machine. I love hard wire that can spray like dual shield, its fast and easy to do.

1/16, .045, 0.35, .030, .023.

Wire strength depends on the series of wire, not the diameter, The ultimate strength of the weld is determined by the process used to deposit the filler material and the value of the parent material.
