Wiring fj40

Gents, I'm total redoing all the wiring of my landcruiser.
I am following the service manual, it's for an F motor but I have a 350 in it.
It says to have a resistor before the coil of the dizzy to reduce the voltage to 9v.
I have an MSD dizzy, do I need a resistor?

No, 12v from key no resistor

Chebby is pretty simple to make run, switched +12 to "bat" side on the dist. As long as its a GM style hei dist that one wire should be all it needs.
