interested in the steering column set up . i like the cleanliness of mounting the steering valve outside the firewall.

my last chassis was silver vein. i loved the look, but it turned black in all the high traffic areas, like it rubbed the silver away. it may have been the quality of the powder or the application though :dunno:

That's interesting question I was talking the other day about that in my chassis. I would have had to push the drivetrain up about seven inches or stretched out the driver compartment 7 inches for that to have happened. Setting my seats behind the atlas and open headers (instead of exhaust runnung under seat) would have been the only way I could have had a lower roof line.

I would like to see a comparison of WOD buggies with wheelbase and seat position relative to drivetrain.

Basically a tube, some delrin bushings, shaft and joint and plate for firewall mount.

Yessir, to get the "low slung" look and on a "hill killer" it is better to have more weight up front.

IMO, drive train placement has to do with what you want to do with the buggy. For the wheeling I do, I prefer the engine further back in the chassis but then you have to run a deeper belly to contend with a seat that will be on top of the tcase. Give and take is all it is.

the way they explained it to me was: on their production chassis, they mount the seats and t-case in the same spot and the adjustment for the driver is made up in the steering column/ pedal/ shifter locations

for example, if you and I both went up there and said we both wanted a bouncer chassis with identical parts, the only measurements they would have to take for us was when they were getting ready to do the steering column etc. ; seats would already be mounted if that makes sense

George at Angryfab wanted me to drive there to make sure all that was where I wanted. It's like 5.5 hrs. So he took my pant size and I think suit jacket size and everything is perfect.

Preview of the dash. I think it's gonna be pretty nice. Simple and clean! The digital dash idea I had but the tablet came from the "digital dash" hardline thread.

I run the same OBDII scanner. My gauges are goofy and I find myself just checking the app if I really want to know coolant temps. Great build man. Will the driver be able to reach the kill switch if he's strapped in?

Will the driver be able to reach the kill switch if he's strapped in?

This is something I struggled with/ didn't care for on this design. The "dash" is so far out of reach when your strapped in. Remember, your sitting behind the transfer case. To make things proportional it's designed this way. Unless you do an elaborate dash design with a console of sorts, this is what you get. The ignition switch will be with in reach of the driver. That will kill fuel pump etc. The "kill" switch is really there for worst case scenario where someone can reach in and shut it off.

That makes sense. I was originally planning on mounting some stuff on my dash but ended up in the same situation as far as distance. Moving all of the switches to the ceiling was my best bet since the console was getting kinda crowded with shifters and whatnot.

I agree and this is the same reason I joined the forum. I like to see others tech and builds to get ideas and see how others do different things fabrication/ build wise.

Left of the tablet is a low psi light for oil psi. Just a secondary warning light is all. Gauges in general don't catch your attention but a bright light coming on, that normally isn't on, does.

Tablet is in a case. I just drilled the back of the case for 1/8" rivets to attach to aluminum dash panel.

Little update

Got the buggy out of the shop for a few to take it to Bowling Green to meet up with Mike Harper (mike2.5) who owns Bowling Green Hydraulics to get the high pressure lines made. They came out fantastic. I'll have to get pics of them later.

Also wrapped up wiring. Fuse panels for accessories and engine.

Start of engine harness after removing what is not needed.

Clean work Wizzo! I hope you did a test run before you wrapped all of those engine wires. Sucks to undo all of that beautiful work!
