Re: ***WTB Dodge 3500***

Anyone with a 96-02 cummins 4x4.
Also would consider a 7.3 4x4

I'd suggest a 7.3. It's a good truck and a good motor. Cummins is a good motor but it's wrapped in a piece of **** truck. It's hard to deny dodge's inherent problems.

You got one for sale or just giving your opinion?

Just giving my opinion. Had to get a little jab in on the dodge guys cause us ford guys get beat down all the time. Lol. Gotta get a dig where I can. Your on the right track though going pre 07' all should be pretty good. Getting one that's not ragged out is tough. I'll definitely keep my eyes open for ya though.

He's right about the Cummins being wrapped in a POS truck. And I like the 7.3, but its no 5.9 Cummins, have owned both. Just depends on how highly you value what. I think you would be hard pressed to find a 7.3 with less than 200,000 miles these days. Its nearly impossible to find a 5.9 with less than 150,000 and the 7.3 has been out of production longer. 5.9 will get better mileage, too.

Not gonna lie a dodge will fall apart around a 5.9 engine. But every ford we have ever owned squeaked really bad (never owned a 7.3 though). My dad or myself or both pretty much have had a Cummins truck at all times since 1993. Its just what I'm comfortable with.
I would try out a 7.3. But it would have to be a 6 speed and a hell of a good deal

I've had mine for about 8 years and it's been a hell of a truck. It's a 2000 f250 7.3 6 speed. I love it. Pulls like a bastard. Best of luck in your search. Like I said I'll keep an eye open
