• Help Support Hardline Crawlers :

YJ Build Thread

I was pleasantly surprised by them. I bought them last minute because they were priced right and we could get them on short notice after something else fell through. We will see how they do back here at home once we get them on some wet trails.:awesomework:
For years I ran two sets of tires. Some cheap radials for Moab, and Super Swampers for Washington. In the slickrock of Moab, damn near any tire is great. Nowadays, I run the Krawlers for everywhere, although I have been contemplating switching to the Kevlars.

X2 on kevlars, I like my reds but iroks rule around pnw :awesomework:
I've really been checking out the maddogs from pitbull too

Yeah I am not sure how these will do once wet, but the good thing is they are tires, not kids. So I can get rid of them if I don't like them.:D

FOA air bumps and West Texas Off Road hydro assist are here, gotta find time to change them. Also pulling the springs to send back to FOA to get some lighter rate ones.

Finally got around to doing a little math and figuring out my corner weights so I can dial the spring rates in. Right now I am sitting at:

725 lbs D front
675 lbs P front

506 lbs D rear
487 lbs P rear

Full Droop:

Change of plans here in the last few weeks, axles, motor, trans, t-case, and cage are all being pulled and sold.

Looking for a set of tons, and an atlas.:stirpot:

That's a little big for what I wanna do, I am limited to 37 inch tires for 4500 class so I am trying to get away with the smallest big boy axles possible.:awesomework:

Jonni has been back at it a bit between working on some other projects he has in the shop. He mounted the West Texas Off Road Redneck Ram box and added a piece of tube for the AntiRock:

Since the box is pushed so far forward the tube was notched a bit to clear the top of the box, the bar fits in fine and clears with no issues.

The AntiRock links had to be bent out to clear the coilovers and panhard mount:

He got started on the Redneck Ram mount for the axle side the other day, decided to use the diff cover to mount it:

Then my new brakelines from Clayton Off Road showed up, with a couple of their nifty bottle openers and some swag:

We dig some digging at the parts store and ended up with the combo below. The high end of the hard line will have a short (8" or so) double ended female line connected to the hard line on the frame:

Been a while since I updated this. Had a few changes in my life, moved, changed jobs, etc. Luke at Hazard Fab in Spokane has been slowly making a few changes to the suspension and keeping it out of my way for the past 6 months or so.

Luke is driving it around to gauge how much work is going to be needed on the shocks, in the meantime he covered up the massive holes that were needed to get the 2.5 x 14 inch coil overs in the rear to not hit anything:
