The insurance companies are pouring money in to fight this because the govt plan is competition. They stand to lose a lot of $$ if this passes

health care

the problem i have is the loss of choice. right now our family can decide to get a different plan. switch jobs or just purchase another plan we make our own choice. that will be gone. that scares me. the point made earlier of naming a plan the goverment has ran for us that has worked is a scary thought. even if your liberal. i have gone without health care and it drove me to a better job.
my two cents

Well since you know everything about my financial income. :rolleyes:

We know that you can afford 4 LCD TVs, and probably a good number of other non-essential things.

So it appears that you can afford health care insurance. It's that you just don't want to pay for it and are gambling that you won't need it.

Why should I have to pay more taxes to pay for your health care and subsidize your non-essential luxuries?

I see your point, but I feel that my company I work for should man up and provide health insurance like every other decent company out there.

Over the past couple of years I have done numerous things to cut back on our bills including selling our 2800 SF house. We now rent and live in a duplex. :masturbanana[1]:

As far as me spending money on "luxury things".. At least I'm putting money back into the economy. Even when I was unemployed we still spent money.

I say set-up a health plan that is affordable to everyone gov. assisted or not. Also make sure it's a decent health plan. Not some **** that doesn't cover crap. As far as your taxes that your worried about. It's too late Obama ****ed that up when he was elected. 750 trillion debt within 100 days.....:rolleyes:

Don't like it, get a better/different job. It's not fawking rocket science... My employer honestly can't afford to give me health insurance and I really don't want to strap myself to a monthly bill that big either so I'm on the hunt for a different job that pays better and will at least assist in insuring myself and peanut. :;

I have one question, accually an observation, ... With my HMO, any operation/prceedure/meds my Dr. orders for me must be OK'ed by the HMO before I can get it. Only prblem I see with this is the people authorising my medical treatments/meds/ect are NOT Doctors ! How, or better Why are Non Dr's deciding what meds/proceedures/ect I need? They even say NO to meds my Dr. wants me to have ? It all boils down to the all mighty $$$ ! That simple ! OK, next, .... :eeek: Sorry to have gotten off topic, NO, I do not like / want anything this government wants to ram down our throats ! It is not good for me, for you or for America ! Nothing this government has done has been good for America ! All I can say is, .. " ENOUGH" !

I'm on the hunt too. But these days job's are hard to find, so your either stuck with what you got or hope you get unemployment until you do find something better. It's one of those catch 22 things. My employer can't afford it too from what I understand. So I guess I'm stuck.

Your right, the insurance companies are all about the $$$ if they weren't abusing the free market system the govt' wouldn't have to step in

Good point. SO, why can't the gov step in and place regulations on the insurance companies? If the doctor prescribes something, god damn it, the insurance company has to pay for it! Insurance organizations are still going to make a ton of money off the healthy folks, but they should not be able to fight you on your care, if the doctor says its going to cost 150,000 cause you need "this".
It is BS that insurance companies do whatever they can to NOT pay in the event you need them. So again, as much as i hate to see the government step in anywhere, why can't they hold the insurance companies more responsible, instead of whats currently being discussed?
