Kinda. Grants could only be writen for "legal" orv areas.
Had we had our Nova funds we could be in the middle or writing grants for reiter.
The thing is, our money for orv tabs and forfeiting our refund for the gas tax was only agreed upon because the money was to be used for non highway off road activities...
This has nothing to do with the grant process... Grants would come into play if we had the money, but we don't...
First step is to get our money back... Then we can focus on where and how to spend it...
Whether you like it or not, we need to get involved... Things like the WOHVA rally really help our cause... I feel we need more demonstrations on the Capital Building steps...
The greenies get what they want because they constantly bitch about what they want... The squeaky wheel gets the grease...
Or we can stick our heads in the sand and wait for someone else to fix it...

2 of my buddys and myself organized a rally at the MN state capital and the blue ribbon coalition helped sponsor it...it wasn't easy and we even had problems with fellow off-roaders (they thought it was a bad idea) and the atv people even tried to get the blue ribbon coalition to stop the involvement....after all that I thought I was never going to get into off-road politics but....here I am opening my big mouth

dood....I have been wheeling since the winter of 1979....and it is the squeeky wheel that gets the greese....
the point I had in MN is that the majority of Minnesotans WERE pro motorized because you couldn'r swing a dead cat without hitting a house that had an atv, motorcycle, boat or ohv
if it was spent...properly... we would have more trails....?

I'm gonna be blunt and to the point here:
I feel I owe it to myself to help re-open Reiter. The rest of this BS is out of my league and out of mind. Yes, I will let someone else do it for me. My head is not stuck in the sand though......actually, it's more like "I'm out in the woods, come and get me!"

It may of had less money for them to take, but I don't believe for one minute it would make it less likely to be taken...
They prey on the weak... ORV people as a community, are easy targets... They know we are less likely to fight than other types of groups...
Because we are destroying the planet!
People need to learn the benifits of trails from wildlife useage to fighting fires...we help the environment
