So to avoid the **** storm starting on book of faces. What is everyone's thoughts on all these kids just walking out of school today in protest of guns?

I myself would have participated in school just to get out of school. I wouldn't have been protesting ****.
How can all of these kids just get up and walk out with no consequences?
Are they going to start doin g this every month, year, day and be excused?
Anybody got any kids participating in this?

High school kids don't need a reason to skip school. I'd be willing to bet down here in Alabama 75% of them that are skipping school own guns and go hunting on the regular.

The teachers/admin are pushing this. I will NEVER EVER vote for another tax increase for schools.....NEVER.

Beat me to it Ed, most of these kids are just using this for an excuse to NOT go to school. This situation was pitiful at best and should never have come about if the proper tools were in place(metal detectors, Barney FIfe with one bullet, etc.) I have spoken with several students at our local high school and they have said that anything they want, they can get. Guns, drugs, sex propaganda. SUCKS for the good kids trying to make the right decisions.

They have already planned another for next month. So when does it stop? And don't say it stops when no one can legally own a gun because it will be on to some other type of protest then. :****:

I'm still uncertain why the debate isn't to have security at schools?
I know "unofficially" there are already schools with volunteers in place.

Here's an interesting thought, why are inner city urban schools not been involved or got in the media attention that the others have?

Can you imagine being a cop on patrol at the high school? Having to deal with underage punk kids messing with you all day. I promise you I wouldn't last week and I would Taze or mace one of them :****:

Consequences are important, if they actually believe in it they can weigh it against the consequences because the real world has those. Removing those doesnt do any of those kids any and I dont see why administration is not intelligent enough to see that.

I too would have skipped and done nothing productive with my day. I dont believe schools are unsafe and I dont think guns are the problem. Quit missing the mark all you people out there

Here's a fun fact. Huffman High school does have metal detectors and is a BRAND new school, but they were unplugged and moved to the side. My guess is because they detect all types of metals and became a hassle when the kids had to keep removing their fake gold teef and cosmetic accessories everytime they came to skoo. Just my .02

This is why I think we should get rid of our socialized education system. Getting 300+ million people to agree on something is impossible. If we didn't have public schools private schools would flourish because there would be a market for people that want to educate their kids and they could have it their way because they're paying for it. I'd find a school that has a proper security setup and has a curriculum I agree with and challenges my kids. There's a lot of other people who'd rather have their kids go to a shooting gallery of a school where their classes are dumbed down to the lowest level and the teachers teach them the all the great fairy tales of socialism.

I have more respect for gun rights to do that ****. I owned 8 or 9 firearms before I graduated high school. I would have sat in class and ranted most likely.

I never was in to guns....if you want to carry one, go carry one. If I feel threatened, i'll start carrying one. My dad liked guns and had a bunch but I've maybe fired a gun 5 times in my life. Just never got into them.

^^^ smart post.

Re:

This **** kills me. They see this as acceptable for 2 reasons.

1.) I'd wager majority of school administration is for gun control so they actually support/push this bullshit like mentioned earlier.

2.) The ones that don't support this can't speak out against it because they will be crucified by the media.

"Alabama teacher refused to let his class participate in school walk out day" with name and picture plastered across tv's everywhere. That's what happens now when you oppose liberal agendas, their only tool is using the media, and it damn well appears to be working, or we wouldn't be seeing more and more of this total dumbassery. **** burns me up, pussification of America is in full swing.
