just got off the phone with mike westbay he said 410 will most not likely be open for memorial day weekend. looks like end of the month......

i talked to my friend at jacks over there yesterday...he said the snow line is right about milk pond....that doesnt leave much for wheelin over there till the snow melts...

Reiter for me:cheer: Getting test out all the new camping gear and a few new parts:awesomework:

enjoy the parking lot..With Naches being closed there will be alot of 4wheeler's at reiter..hence the new sport of trail parking:haha:

FWIW:rolleyes: Those of you that are Locals/familiar with the OM "need" to take an active roll in policing the area. If "you guys" are gonna be up there "all" weekend then perhaps you can remind people to stay on the trail, pick up their litter including broken parts etc.If people tell you to F'off and do the above.....just take their pic and post it up here.

Better yet beat thier ass and stuff them down one of those bottomless holes out there............

Has anyone got ahold of Mikki Douglas today with the Cle Elum Ranger District ORV dept? I've called all day with no answere regarding Manastash, however it sounds like she just had surgery and is working fewer hours... :corn:

I just got the following email from Mikki:

Bryan, we pulled all our Road Closed signs, so now getting "there" is just weather and accessibility dependant. I update the web once to two times a week depending on changes, so keep checking back. I am heading up to Manastash right now to see how far we can get, so I will post what we find tomorrow (Monday). My buddy was up there last weekend and said he didn't think the campgrounds would be accessible by Memorial Day. He has lived here all his life and said he had never seen the canyon so snowed in. That's all I know for now... Waiting on Mother Nature! Hopefully we will see you up there on Memorial Day. Mikki

Sounds like the Cle Elum side is open, but still snowed in :awesomework:

Mikki sent me another update:

Bryan, we made it 6 miles up the Manastash Canyon (6 miles starting from the where the county road ends / just past the second South Fork manastash bridge) and six miles up the FS Road 35 (Reecer). Can't access trails in either of those areas, but Barber Springs is open to Funny Rocks. Taneum has about seven miles of trails open - but no loops. Hope that helps! Mik

Sounds like there is still some snow up there...either that or Mikki was driving a Honda :D

What does it all mean! :haha:

I'm just unfamiliar with the area. My plan is to camp at Manastash campground. Does this mean all the good trails around there are gonna be closed? I've only been there once before ( last Memorial weekend in fact.)

We ran a trail called Tri-pod flats I believe?

Sounds like you won't be able to get to Manastash campground by memorial day. And if you can't even get there then running the tripod flats trail would not be possible. You could camp down by the camper for sale and take barber springs road to funny rocks, I think thats the route the guys in this thread did:awesomework:

Manastash Camp & the trails are open...they are just covered in a ton of snow. Tripod Flats starts right out of Manastash Camp. You could run up Barber Springs Road, pass through Funny Rocks & come back down Tripod Flats. We did that on FRI last year...I bet there is a tad more snow this year. Going up Tripod will be a biatch on the long hill just past the creek.

the camper for sale

...you see that my ad got flagged & deleted :scratchhead: I wonder why :haha: :haha: :haha:

That would help us decide...we had planned on driving over to scout out the area on the 18th. Let us know what you find :awesomework:

I'm going through Ellensburg and around to Little Naches this saturday for 10 days. Hope to see you there Bryan.
