What are the specs on your cannon? I've got a .50 cal one thats about 17" long on a Vermillion wood base...I modled it after an old Naval deck gun.
I shoot between 150 and 300 grain FFF and vary the wad density and pack to get different results.I've never put it "IN" something but I have shot plenty of screws,nails,rocks,shot etc. OUT of it:redneck:
I also have a tennis ball mortar as well as a golf ball mortar...those are pretty fun too:redneck:

My wife likes to tell people that the .50 cal cannon is pretty much the loudest thing EVER....at least what she's heard.

260 grain with a HARD wad is "pretty" loud:D :beer:

my cannon is 1 inch bore, nothin fancy just very thick wall tube welded to a 12X18 peice of plate and gusseted at about a 30 degree. the barrel is about 10 inches long. I usually load about 2-5 OZ each ( 5 OZ is about half the barrel full). I get fff synthetic powder for 14 a pound. cheap forth. :redneck:
the only thing I ever shot out of was marbles, I just load TP or napkins for noise. I was always afraid of how far it could travel if loaded with a round!
I need to put it in a car trunk next!:haha:

My buddy had a little more than that stacked next to where he was shotting off the mortors. One mortor went about two feet in the air and landed in the box of mortors......... they all caught fire and went off....... what a show. I ran over to my wife and daughter and covered them from any that might shoot towards us....... that sure cut our night short.:booo:

I have a 3ft piece of 2" mild at work that I'm gonna chuck-up in the lathe and make a couple new cannons:redneck: Probably only .75 cal....might go up to 7/8 bore but I'm pretty cautious with wall thickness at the breach.Your cannon sounds sweet!!:beer:

The parking lot was a 2 day set up/shoot/clean up. About 8 hours the first day and 10-12 hours the second day.
We spent the first day building the box's and setting the mortar tubes than filling with sand. We came back the next day and dropped all the product and shot the show than cleaned up. It's allot of work but i enjoy it and think its worth it when you hear the crowed and get thank you's after the show.

The other show was about 8 hours of work to set up shoot and clean up.
