Officer Assualted at Evans Creek Today

heard thru the grape vine that a officer up at Evans got beat up today and they called in back up...

can anybody verify this?

not to bring up bad publicity...

Wonder if it was good'ol Officer Dan H !! everytime I have been thru Burnett I have seen him harassing some random wheeler over mudflap's or flairs...
wonder if he pissed off the wrong person finally and got his ass handed to him..

So if a guy is told by his superiors that it's his duty to enforce the laws of the state, and he does his best to follow instructions, he's harassing people, and he's the a$$ hole, and deserves a beating just for doing his job?

It's not the officer's fault that you're not following the rules. If you don't like the rules. you need to contact your congress person about having them changed. Otherwise, follow the rules, or risk the consequences if you don't, but don't bitch about it if you get caught when running out of compliance.

If some dumb ass was stupid enough to assult an officer for something like that, I hope they get 5 to 10 years to think about it.

The political ramifications of an officer needing assistance and/or being injured are very dire. This is nothing to joke about. **** like that would do more to close EVERY legal area than any mud flap fiasco.

Let's hope it's an unfounded rumor.

There is never a reason to assault a cop. Period.
Do we know if the guy assaulted is the mudflap cop?
I really think that most people are just pissed off at this guy because he seems to have made it his mission to be petty. I'm not saying that the laws shouldn't be enforced. It just seems to me that our tax dollars could be much more effectively utilized rather than busting people for very minor traffic violations. Doesn't this guy have better things to do? Chase car thieves and actually prosecute? Close down a meth lab? Anything.
I think that if someone actually wanted to challege the mudflap law they'd win. IIRC the RCW says that all motor vehicles must have mudflaps down to the CL of the axle. Many new vehicles don't comply and almost every street bike doesn't comply. Isn't a motorcycle a motor vehicle? Hell, some of the street bikes have 8" wide tires, why don't they have to comply? Also, tires must be fully covered over the tire. We all see a hundred semi tractors (w/o trailers) everyday that have mud flaps only but no over tire coverage. By law, shouldn't these guys be cited? The hotrod fender law- how is OK to exempt one group over another? Many of us probably drive less road miles than most hotrods. My local PD never gives me a second look but I'd get nailed in Burnett?
What is happening is selective enforcement by a man with a personal agenda(which is clearly not in the best interest of his department). Yes, he's an asshat but save your fight for court. If everyone he cited took him to court his superiors would have to call him off because he'd never get any work done.:fawkdancesmiley: Our LEOs need to spend time making our world safe and spending time chasing mudflap violators is a huge waste of our tax dollars.

I was at the fun run at Evans yesterday, and while we were driving down, 5 cop cars were haulin ass towards Evans. I only saw one Forest Service guy on a quad and he was nice, we talked about removing the burned motorhome and rebuilding the damaged shelter. One guy from Offroad Animals said that the Forest Service does not want to issue permits for club activities at Evans.

I talked to a guy that camped at Evans last weekend and he said it was a cluster fawk!
Kids had come in from all over and were stupid wasted. These weren't wheelers, just kids looking to party hard. They didn't stay. They left and left all their shiat all over the place. It's only a matter of time before some dumbass gets killed driving wasted and 4x4 community gets another black mark because it happened at Evans, an off road area. Evans has become known as a party place for the locals and they are going to get it closed down.

Last time I was up at evans, i was taking my flairs off in Wilkison and one of the troopers out there told me if I left the parkinglot w/out them he'd be writing me a ticket. I was waiting to meet up with a buddy anyway so I put them back on.... wonder if it was the same guy?
