drive line problem

im getting a major pinging noise from my drive line.. i changed the rear ujoint but it still makes the pinging noise sounds like its comming from the middle of the drive line.. any ideas????

Are the u-joints in phase?

Seriously though, if there is a double cardan joint the centering ball can cause the angry sparrows problem.

its an 1983 toyota 4x4.. 5 speed 22r

IS it a stok driveshaft--non CV? Have you checked the front u-joint?

Does the t-case side look like the diff side on the driveshaft? If so--you have no CV:awesomework:

If it's pinging its a dry joint. Money says the front joint is wasted...
