So those of you who know me know how I am, know I find it really hard to play the "mean" guy, be a jerk and so on..

So for a long time we have suspected a couple wheelers as being the ones who have removed barricades, cut them up and so on from the rumor mill.
But today I got info on the words out of one of there mouths that there intent is to go up and cut everything that was recently done. Which I can't belive because only the "easy" recent bypass's were closed, not any origional lines.

Now they are local "kids" to the valley and are over 18 I believe.

I have contacted kim with the DNR and talked with her and they cannot do anything without evidence, which makes sense and I understand that. I am also going to call Ron tommorow who is the efforcemant officer and see what else can be done from that standpoint (probably nothing but I gotta try).

Now I am not trying cause or do anything ilegal to these young kids, just looking for advice on how to handle it because I am not really good at handling these kind of issues.

Thanks for any input...

I have thought about the camera thing. But I don't have that kind of $$ to spend, or I would jump on it..

Send someone to hang with them and let them start talking...

Then go to the police.:awesomework:

Easier said than done....

I had cameras on my logging equipment and it was vandalized, pics turned in,ID's made and no prosecution.

It is hard to make stick.....

Heresay is what's that called, far less likely to work than pics!
sooooo.....

Vandalize their stuff before they can vandalize OUR trails.... :yousuck:

Which barracades are these? Are these the "natural" barracades like logs and such drug into the trail? Or the more menacing cables and stuff... Are these said "kids" on the board? If the AREN'T I say let the names fly! :awesomework:

They are "natural" barricades, but there is supposed to be a WAC pertaining to removal of an installed barricade (what they could be charged with) be it wood, blocks and etc.

I am sure you know them too...

Heresay is right unless one of them is there when they do the vandalisim and testifys....

I say beat 'em within an inch of their life and let 'em try and go rat you off.......:beatdeadhorse:

If you do the camera deal make sure it gets faces AND license numbers.

As well as be able to positively identify the stuff they vandilize. Just a couple guys cutting **** up in the woods isn't going to do it even if there is this great coincidence that some stuff at Reiter was vandilized too.....

Who?

There's no law against posting what "you heard" about the info...

If it's not true the people involved can always respond appropriately.

No one likes confrontation but without it how do you ever expect the "dirty laundry" to get aired out?

Who?

I worked for a company that was vandalized by some guys and they got so drunk they passed out at the landing.

The rigging crew showed up the next morning and woke them with the sheriff and they couldn't prosecute either....

All I am saying is a case in the woods is HARD to get a conviction on. :(

I agree....

But I won't post anything till I get the "right" info to post. :awesomework:

Don't wanna post the wrong names :redneck:

i say we set traps:stirpot: Real hunting traps and other such items on the closed sections to Efn mess them up:awesomework:

Ya, that's what i'm thinking, do you have any vehicle descriptions?! (maybe pm me a name... I know most of the "kids" rigs.....:corn:)

So I guess in their defense (not saying this is right, but playing devil's advocate) how are they supposed to know what is natural windfalls and what was man-made barracades (any idiot should know this REGARDLESS!) But how could you prove it otherwise? Do you guys (RTW or DNR or whoever, have some proof or documentation of where these barracades have been established?

For Example: Say Jimmy goes up to TA (everyone knows this story, but take away the signage for a moment, because not all the "natural" blockages are marked with signs) and pulls the blocks out of the way. Somehow Jimmy is caught doing this and persecuted.... Now, say those blocks were fallen logs instead. Jimmy pulls the logs out of the way. He gets caught and is persecuted. Couldn't he just say he was clearing the trail...? Or is there documentation of this "natural" barracde somehwere in the Annals for DNR or whoever to fall back on?
