1st my refernce was to the fact that was in deed really done. There was no mention to that being a photo edit

2nd I don't see any pixulation on that picture that suggests it has been---unless it was done in high res and then modified--that will change the pixulation and make it hard to tell...

But if that was in deed real--not a smart thing to do.. Heck you could even get nailed towing it down the road on the trailer...

This photo is a good example of the 'Straps -v- Chains' debate. Just "seems" dangerous. Probably isn't. But "seems" that way.

If the trailer was a deck over, then the center of gravity (in relation to the trailer axles) would be the same as it is on the rails.

Tied down in the manner it is, would be no different than if it was on a deck over, or, for that matter, a semi-truck flatbed.

Ergo, what I see is a perception of 'dangerousness', however, it's probably just a perception.

However, if you had a leaky tire, and it was allowed to deflate, thereby releasing tension on the strap, causing the strap to come loose, the load would then shift rapidly, and probably roll off the rails, causing catastrophic damage. Potentially fatal for an unsuspecting motorist in the line of fire.

But look at the contact surface of the tire on the rail--not much so that tire will squish around it pretty easily--not like if it was sitting on a flat deck...

Provided the tires stay fully inflated. I'd guess it's OK. Not that I'd tow it behind me.

Sure would be interesting to see what a WSP officer would think.
