Not to give any credit where its not due, but wheelbase plays a sizeable part in that particular obstacle. It is friendly to SWB vehicles because you avoid the
double whammy.

True, but once Burn-Out got off the throttle and thought about the obstacle he made it up just fine. :awesomework:

All Driver.

that can be said about any obstacle....

I had already been up that ledge several times .. I will try to get a full time video crew up there for you haters have some proof of my accompishments.. Or you can get off your web wheeling asses and come wheel with me.. "not directed only at you Buster"

Then why was it so difficult that time?

Disclaimer/FYI: I have wheeled twice this year, my wheeling experience level is close to Novice.

I told him that weeks ago. If someone gave me a set, I'd certainly take 'em, but I'd rather have Bobby's 60 Birfs. The costs are much more affordable than 300m shafts.

um Bobby's 60 Birfs had 300m shafts:flipoff:

I guess I'm just dumb then.
Nobody NEEDS parts made of Unobtainium. The entire industry was wheelin' long before exotic parts were manufactured. Yeah, you'll break every now and then. But 35 splined, Dana 60, Chromo shafts are pretty darn durable, (except when you let Robin drive)

And yeah, I know there are better shafts out there. 40 splines. CVs. Whatever. But the idea that we *need* stuff just cause it's the latest and greatest is also dumb.

No one needs to go wheeling...you don't need to go wheeling you can sit at home and watch tv or tell people that the parts they bought or want aren't needed.

Some people don't want to ever have to fix their stuff if they can help it.

If I drive 1200miles to get to a comp or a wheeling destination, I don't want to spend time wrenching once I get there. If an Unobainium part will help insure that and I have the $ to spend why not spend the $.

You're right, we should all go back to wheeling a stock flat fender with open diffs and NDT's on it.

It's called evolution, you either do it or stay stagnant in your little primordial pool of ooze.

Keep up the good work!:awesomework: I agree, you are VERY entertaining to watch, and if driving with the gas pedal is what you want to do, DO IT! I still can't believe how many web wheeling haters are on this board.:corn:

My humble opinion has yet again offended the masses

Some people don't want to ever have to fix their stuff, if they can help it. Yup. That's me. And if you knew me, you'ld agree.

I too have driven 1200 miles to go wheeling. And I've done that every year for a decade. (well maybe not exactly 1200), but Moab, Cali, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Arizona, etc.....

But at what price, or what extent will it end? Do you really want a $100,000 rig. (I hear their's one for sale right now). Do you really need 300M shafts? Your build thread doesn't show CTM shafts. How many shafts do you break competing?

Who said anything about going back to 1940? I'll give you odds that my shnizzle is as high-tech, and as quality components as the next guy. Probably better than most. You're welcome to visit next time you're in the neighborhood :awesomework:. And short of spending the better part of the last two years building this rig, I've wheeled quite a bit. And my normal rig has a lot of neat stuff on it too.

It just seems that everytime someone has some new, better than before shnizzle, that everyone now "Needs" it. We've all wheeled years without this stuff.

TreeClimber

I need Unobtainium.:FIREdevil:
Of course you do. You and Breirje

You forget that the stronger bigger badder parts aren't developed and brought to market because people are bored and have nothing better to do. They are made because people are breaking the last great thing.

Bobby is a perfect example, before he developed the ring on the birf and figured out they were hardened to the point being brittle and all subsequent innovations in material usage and design yota's were either sporting a dana 44 or carrying a supply of stock birfs.

Now with the development of 30 spline 300M/CroMo birfs and shafts axle breakage is a thing of the past for the most part. Wheeling a yota is a whole lot more fun when you don't have to worry about what is going to break and when then how are you going to get off the trail from there. :D

It ends when I stop seeing return for my investment. (Return = Fun since we all know we aren't making money doing this)

I am running Superior's 4340 made in the US axle shafts and machined for 50 degree's of steering by Branik Motorsports combined with Bobby's 300m Ujoints. Its the best combination of parts to do what I want, made by companies I wanted to work with, that I could afford buy.

Last year competing we broke a differential part at 3 out of 4 comps. If I could of thrown more $ at the ftoy to stop that from happening I would of. I loved that rig, but I was tired of broken stuff and no companies had stepped up to make the unobtanium parts I needed.

I understand what your saying but some people do need stronger parts.

What you need to do is park that thing, find a rig on 31's that's open-open and get back to the basics without all that fancy ****. A few seasons of that and ya should be ready for big boy toys:redneck:

No, he was born the same as the other EBP, so there is no need to mess with such mamby pamby BS! It's all or nothing.

I spent 5 seasons in a Toyota on 35s and drove that thing all over hell's creation.. I have plenty of time in Stock mod/mod/ and now learning my super mod.. I will be just fine.. Fail or succeed I have been doing it all myself.
