BTW the trees at Reiter aren't natural they were planted there by a man.:;
Pokey,
The restrictions I was talking about were the ones this thread was about. Tire Width mainly, I agree that the trails need to be properly designed and built and yeah I guess that does include some restrictions of a sort, but that is the nature of the beast. I don't think we are in any kind disagreement.
On second thougth I feel I do need to add this:
There should also be trails that are RESTRICTED to Motorcycles and/or ATV's and the 4x4 should be restricted from them and not allowed to use those trails!
That's completely retarded... You just said, "Lots of people cant drive and then theres times when a trail just makes you bounce off trees."
I'd bet that most people will agree with me when I say, it's usually the type of driver that does the most damage not the type of rig...
I can contest I have seen more damage done due to driver vs. rig.....
Now that would be cool finding a 10,000 ancers full of rocks
It is posible and has been brought up for discussion. This is what I brought up a long time ago that engineered trails are posible

Just my thoughts. If you can think of it and get a pic of it. then it is posible:awesomework:

I don't understand what those two videos have to do with engineered trails?
CorrectI thought it was 2 examples of natural obstacles that could be reproduced in concrete???
I understand the logic but dont completly agree. There is very limited funding allowed for trails these days and 4x4 trails are the only true trail that is usable by everyone. While were not allowed to use "their" trails why are they allowed to use "ours" I contend that it poor management to build "special" use trails these days when we can all be sharing and thus having more miles of trail to use. There are cases of course due to terrain that dictate motorcycle only and thats fine they work as hard as we do to have "their" trails
Its only fair to have trails built to challenge specific things. I know there are 4x4 trails out there that bikes and quads just cannot run. Tight winding trails for the bikes aren't the same as a tight winding trail for a 4x4 and at the same time you need everything from beginers stuff up to the extreme for all user groups and anything that can be used by everyone is a bonus.
I think you will have a really hard time getting the bike group to agree to anything for them other than singletrack trails that are for them only.

And that is what we need to stay focused on. What makes the most people happy. I think the bikes are working on a deal up Sultan bason so if that comes true. I think the bikes will mostly be out of reiterAnd that is why I said to leave the single tracks that exist at Reiter alone and keep everything else off them. But I agree that the Multi-User Trails are going to make the most people happy in the long run.

I am not in favor of any restrictions, but I sure would like to see people use a little more common sense and not tear spots up because they are so pig headed and refuse to use a winch. This is also I believe the cause of so many by-passes being created.
Who, on the planning committee, will be representing the modern tube type wheeler?
