Evans creek CLOSURE

Bullsh!t.

I called the Enumclaw location of the U S Forest Service at 360-825-6585. Talked to a nice lady named Linda. At this time there are NO scheduled closures of Evans Creek ORV area.

x2 the guy said they has received a few calls about this today. They said they have nothing planned for closing Evans

If you look at the map, it says the gates on the 102 are seasonally closed.

I've been stuck behind that gate in the winter time. I was wheelin with pokey

Looks like a conflict of opinions. My info came from Bob Pacific and was confirmed by Ian.

I don't have anything to do with PNW4WDA. Ask them.

I was simply relaying new information to any possible new users.

I'm curious what input you've provided on the Evan's Creek Forest Plan?

Yes there are, but it still takes individuals/clubs to speak up when asked for comment.
I would assume that all people who post up complaints, have submitted their strong opinions when the DNR and National Forest ask for it on both Reiter(this month) and Evans Creek ( last year).

If not, dont kill the messengers.
I put in alot of time trying to keep "our " trails open at all parks, both political and physical and many others do the same, be part of the solution.
New times new rules.

Im not blaming any one person. I know youve put in a great amount of time and work. Im just putting in my 2 cents on how i veiw it.. Just seams that as a four wheel drive coumuinty we are taking large steps backwards instead of small ones forward..

I think what may be being said here is What we are doing is not working and what are we doing wrong? What do we need to do to stop the trail closures seasonal and non seasonal. I know lots of people remember the battle with the crater and Yes it was private property but they had to start with seasonal closures in order to shut it down.

You make comments like this and then say that you're not trying to create controversy????? It's particularly surprising when your club is considering PNW4WDA membership and they have until recently been solely responsibile for representing our community to the USFS at Evan's Creek.

WOW didn't get involved with Evan's Creek till after much of this plan was already in place.

PS, nope, I didn't go to the meetings personally as we had a representative there but I did comment in writing.

Sounds like the closure is based upon resource damage concerns. What should have been on the written comment, "I don't use Evans during the winter so may as well leave it open as I won't be there to damage it"? What answer were they looking for? How did they get word out to the people who aren't on the internet?

Heresay (cause I didn't get it first hand) is that the USFS didn't get much objection when they requested input so they figured that no one had objections to their plan, including the seasonal closure.

I dont know what you think you know... But the WTF members and i are completely content and happy with how we are and the projects that we have made.. If the WTF members would like to go another direction they will let the President (ME) and or vise president( Richie)know.. They have a vested intrest in WTF because is not a dictatership like the club i was in.
