Not sure if there is already a thread about this but I am too lazy too search right now as im stuffing my face with food :flipoff:
What do you think of the new health care bill they are trying to pass??
This is an E-mail we received here at work today in regards to the new bill;
All,
I have read numerous pages of the Senate bill and current reconciliation package.
I expressed my dismay to Senator Murray in person, I had a direct face to face debate with Congressman Smith on behalf of the Kent employees that live in his district.
There are numerous tax increases coming next year, S corporation taxes due to health care bill and lapsing of Bush tax cuts, Unemployment Insurance is tripling for may companies due to the consistent extension of benefits.
There will probably be more that may affect the company and it may be in excess of 10% increase, possibly putting us in a position where the Government may be taking more than 50% !!
Since this bill still has to play out and we have yet to know the total impact, there will be a temporary freeze on hiring and raises until we can reconcile the true impact with our accountants.
I am terribly sorry, MVP is not doing this, our Government has taken this drastic action, when the time comes in
November you have a chance to voice your opinion.
We have yet to see the potential long term impact on the economy, so I ask that all still be prudent in your efforts to reign in spending.:eeek:
