I wouldn't be surprised if the companies come up with a way to put you under a contract as a way to prevent dumping your insurance after an operation/treatment.
Probably, but as the bill is written it leaves a lot of open loopholes that could drive up costs, which is the opposite of what they said they are trying to do, IMO, this was just a way to get everyone covered regardless of cost.
But what about this jason.
Ok right now I am willing to bet we pay a hefty price(in our premiums) for folks who do not have any health coverage. Those folks use the ER's and skate on there bills so you have lots of lawers and so on involved sucking more from the system.
IMO even with pre exhisting illness's I think having them covered is better that not.
I agree, but I will venture to guess that the amount lost to the uninsured is just a drop in the bucket to what the pay in malpractice insurance, and crazy lawsuits, If a doctor cuts off your pinky on accident you should get some compensation, but not 500 million dollars, there needs to be tort reform that will limit these phony lawsuits, there needs to be a cap on how much somebody gets paid in a settlement, L&I has caps on every part of your body, why not insurance companies, and then like was previously stated, they need to open it up so that insurance companies can compete across the united states, that in itself would lower premiums, auto insurance is allowed to do this, but not health insurance.
I, like everyone else, believe that we need reform, I just believe this bill was rushed through without any thought to cost, it is not a reform bill, and in time we will all regret it....I hope I'm wrong though.
