Hey Im withering in health and just want to go out into death valley and die.

Can I take some of you guy's kids with me?





Any word on alcohol yet? Its the only thing that could explain such retarded decisions.
 
Moms story sounds precisely thought out/practiced. She has every detail down to a tee. Just seems fishy to me.

You are responsible for yourself. Not the police, not SAR, not yer buddies.

What would folks say to the guy if he had lived? Would we charge him with resource damage and littering?

This guy (thats dead) kinda angers me. I almost feel as if he decided to involve his son in his suicide mission.
 
To say somebody deserves to die/loose there life for being dumb out in the woods is plain rediculas....

In death he protected his son so if he lived why would he be an asshole?

What if this happened off the main road lets say not far from where the pavement ends?

I don't agree with his actions that led up to the scenario but when your a parent you will do what you can to protect your children after the fact. Sure the agrument can be he should not have been there but the same thing could have happened off a busy road.

There is no excuse for wandering off and taking shelter next to a stump when the truck is a (insulated) shelter and waterproof.

There is even a battery in the truck that could easily start a fire to keep warm.

If he was a druggy he would have had a lighter and been able to make a fire.

That leaves two options.

Drunk.

or

Suicide mission taking a kid with you.


No person is as stupid as this feller seems. Theres way more to this story.

Plus I have read a few comments from the papers from people that knew the father and said his health and family life were in bad shape.

He has a 4 year old at the age of 44, 40 when concieved, thats old for having kids, like "not planned".

Mom didnt seem too concerned they were missing (like he does this allot, not coming home). Mom talks more passionatley about her ALIVE son than her DEAD husband.


Seems like a planed ending to a broken household to me. (but Im a prick)

This guy is far from a hero.

I feel like Im yelling a a dumb movie on TV now.:rolleyes:
 
We will never know brad and I won't argu the logistics of it all--I will stand by my comment that somebody being dumb in the woods does not deserve to loose there life over it... They may deserve other things...

I know and I agree, nobody deserves to lose their life like that.

It just angers me, is all.
 
Hey Chop Shop I'm over here yelling all the same **** at the same dumb movie.

Definitely more to the story though. I was thinking suicide mission also. Mental illness? Divorce/custody issues? who knows

He sure as **** isn't a hero though.

And don't blame the cops or the friends, there is only one person at fault here and he's dead.
 
This story is sad indeed, but why the hell did they not wait in the truck as it would have been warmer/ dryer then being exposed to the elements. This I find very odd.
 
The hero in this whole thing is Ian... He found the boy and got him to safety...

The father was a dumb ass in life and death...

The friend that got the text should have been up there instead of the kid...

That's the dumbest statement I have ever read. So now there's an age limit on how old you have to be to have kids?? :eeek:

**** dude. I'm 37 and I want another kid. Am I too old according to theory for being a responsible parent??


Maybe there was some issues going on in the family but there is no age limit on having kids.

Dude, the average person will side with warmth over standing in the rain/snow. These are life saving decisions that have to be made. I was not there, but you have to admit that its odd to huddle outside a vehicle and freeze to death rather than stay inside of it where its warmer.

I was just going to jump on this one too. I'm 38 and I'd have more babies if I could.
Plenty of parents start later in life and as long as you can be there to take care of them. Age is a number. I know more now, then I did when I first had my kids.

when I asked Ian about recovering the body, it was as though he was ordering Chinese food, as though it was just a day in the life....I can't even imagine. He must see stuff like that all the time.

Joop you have one child and are thinking of having another. That is PLANNED.

Christa you are wanting another but cant for your own reasons, Thats PLANNED.

Both of you have STRONG families and would never let this happen to your kids, correct? Thats planning.

It wont fit everybodies foot however.

Appearently planning was not one of this mans strong qualities.

also hypothermia messes with your ability to think especialy near the end.
