If the State can't fund?

read the link...wheelers building trails and paying for it with a little help from the state but not offroad welfare

Old Reiter was users paying for trails with the sweat on their brows and no help or funding from the state. Only when the state involved itself did the need for millions of dollars come into play.

I'm not looking for money, I'm looking for freedom.

Here is washington states equivlent programs, one of those being NOVA, the other RTP. All managed by the RCO office.

THANKS!
I read a bit, will read more later when I am not in the garage trying to set up gears....

sitting here trying to figure out why some want a cadilac when all we can afford is a pinto....park-trail

The problem is, we can't aford either. The NOVA funds were redirected into the general fund to save the state parks (which don't support motorized recreation)

And the RTP program is to maintain already existing trails.

They should have left it alone until funding was available, and state revenue won't be available till this economy rebounds, like around 2013

The whole point was we had a Cadilac and it was free. The state took our Caddy away and want to charge us millions for the Pinto.

- Money, as for the Locals going in and establishing a presence. I saw little to NO signs of it happening. I was surprised by that actually.

That just means it's being done right. The "new wheeler" is an out of sight-and-Dynomite! wheeler. No need to be in the lime-light anymore.:;

shouldn't you be out eatting granola bars on some hiking trail?

It's amazinbg what a rake and a trash bag can do to stave off suspsion.

X2. A trash bag full of trash in the rig is an asset when one is out exploring and mapping new gray areas. When an area has been deprived of professional wheelers it tends to be coated in trash. Those who stopped to fill a couple bags of it to take back out are difficult to want to prosecute. Just what I heard anyway...

:awesomework:

it did take us 11 years to get our GIA trail to public review....then another 2 years to the start of construction...how long have they been working on reiter?

it is too bad Jeep, Toyota etc don't get more involved like Polaris, arcticat, honda etc does....

atv and snowmobile trails get help from them in mn with moneys and lobbying

Wont happen for simple reasons. Even if ALL or the 4x4 trails in the country were closed and the hobby was outlawed people would still buy jeeps and Toyotas and every other 4x4 make out there. The factories have nothing to loose by not supporting us and our causes. On the other hand if there's no place to ride ATVs and Bikes and such then there's no business to be had. It makes sense that the mfgs and the dealers support those that buy from them. Without them they go out of business:booo:

On the other hand we can pressure business's to support us by simply requiring that they do so in order to get the sale. Next time you make a large purchase just ask the vendor what he does to support us. If you don't like the answer then move on to another vendor and tell vendor one why. Wont take long for them to figure it out.

Shameless plug.
Randys Ring and pinion (platinum supporter of the PNW4WDA as well as 4Wheelparts )( Warn, ARB Bronze) These businesses give back to keep your trails open :awesomework:

Like 05'ish. For the life I cannot remember when the special committee was formed to work on the prodject but I think that was around 07'.

The trails are already there for free.

The first thing you must acknowledge is that the lower area, the NON-motorized area, must be left alone. It's not the "property" of the new Reiter wheeler. The upper area, the Motorized area, is far more suitable; in any context.

With the road washout (currently) in terms, "dividing" the lower and upper areas now, it makes sense that the Index route-in would support an unobvious access point.

With these in mind and the honor sytem followed, Reiter's current state is sustainable.
