On Saturday July 16th the Forest Service Office in Enumclaw is hosting a volunteer clean-up day. We will be focusing on the Greenwater and Wilkeson areas. For those that have been to those areas recently I'm sure you have seen the amount of garbage and shooting debris that has been left behind. We did this last year for the first time and it was pretty successful. We plan to meet at the fairgrounds in Enumclaw at 8 AM and break out from there. The more the better. My goal is to try to manage the debris and garbage in an effort to keep these areas open to the public. If you are interested in volunteering for the day feel free to email me at [email protected]. The more the better. We will provide dumpsters in both Greenwater and in Wilkeson. Thanks, Ian

i will try and be there also, should be able to round up a few people to bring along. great idea:awesomework:

I had another plan for that weekend, but this sounds more important.

I'll be there with my ranger, and maybe a few people.

I will see if I can get our Jeep club involved. I've seen some of the mess in Greenwater, not pretty.

Im gonna try and meet up with the crew thats heading above Wilkeson. Ill have an empty bed to haul down as much as we can fit in it.

You read my mind!
I opened the web to search for this thread.
I'm curious if it's still happening too.

Hopefully, I can make a car delivery for work, and the clean-up.
But Me and my girlfriend should be there.

Put our last truck loads in the dumpster at a little after 5, it was full to the top. Went all the way to the top and found a little snow also...

We came down about 3:15, and figured everybody had been down already. I never did figure out where that car that Ian was looking for, was.

Burnt out shot at car above Wilkeson somewhere?

Saw it leaving on a wrecker going through wilkeson around noon.

The burnt one has been there for a long time, we were just down the road from it when they hauled it out. The other car I was thinking of had been hauled out a while ago and I never noticed it. We did find some parts still down there we hauled out. We drove to the top to see if the jeep (and a riding mower) were still there and it was, its a long ways down off of one of the landings. Its sitting upside down facing down hill, it would be almost impossible to get it out due to all the logs and stumps that got pushed off the edge of the landing. We stuck a pvc pipe in the edge of the landing its on so they will know where to look for it, its hard to find. We noticed it a few years ago whe we were up there shooting.
