Seems like it really comes down to: pick something that is the size, shape and features in your buget and run with it. Go to Costco, Video Only or were ever and stare at them. Talk to the salesmen (on a couple ocations), some of them actually know what they are talking about. Figure out what looks the best to YOU in your price point and run with it. Kind of sounds like they really are all about the same now, with just some variations on performance based on the technolgy.
Costco is nice for this since they (99% sure) have no commision so they don't care what you buy. Plus their prices are usually pretty good.
X2 on the "new found space". Mine hangs on the wall with all the "componants" built into a corner cabinet about 12' away and the cables in the wall. MASSIVE room now.
Also be carefull on the size. Only you can really determine what size is *perfect*, but the bigger it is, the farther back you have to be to really make it "proportioned". So if you have a small room.... is a 60er really the right choice........
