Trail Safety: What do you bring?

What do you bring to stay safe while out wheeling/offroading/camping etc.?

A fire extinguisher, first aid kit and supplies for a couple nights alone.

A fire Extinguisher.

Depends. There are long trips and short ones. each requires a different set of rules I follow with what I bring.

As I don't travel into the woods alone I carry supplies for one night as well as a tarp for a tent if needed. A space blanket and normal survival gear. I carry a full trauma kit as well as water for first aid. A full array of tools and parts needed to keep the rig rolling. Two smoke canisters (for helicopter) CB radio and telephone. GPS so you can tell the helo where to find you. Fire ext, shovel and ax as well as a colapsable bucket. Also all of my meds for two days
And enough gas to get where I am going :awesomework:

Bring as much as you can. LOTS of tools.....always seem to come in handy. Spare parts maybe. Have a first aid box that goes on every trip, thankfully have yet to have to use it :awesomework:

Small bag of tools and a fire extguisher is all, i have almost 0 storage in my rig so anything else i gotta ask around for other people to carry my **** and i hate doing that so i carry the bare minium.

Oh and a fully charged IPOD so i can rock out if i get stuck somewhere until my battery's die hahaha

2 small signal type ones. pilots like them in tight areas for wind direction.

Long trip--anything on the east side I carry enough to hold out for a couple days.

Short trip--lunch....

i bring a toyota thats built and maintained to the best of my ability. i bring my tools, my recovery gear, my gun, my saw, a brush knife, maps, dry 2x4's, multiple lighters,lots of paper, extra gas/oil, 2 large tarps,multiple flashlights, food/water, garbage bags. this is just some of what i take when i go into the woods. the stupid thing is i dont have a charged fire extinguisher or a decent first aid kit

I always have flash lights, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, hatchet, and a truck tool box, full with; a smaller tool box with quite a few tools, straps/ misc recovery stuff, and oils/fluids, coolant, and wd40 (and can't forget duct tape). Usually I have a hilift, but a lot of times I forget to throw it in the bed.

I also always have a couple bottles of water, chips and a sandwich, and other snack food. My truck always has things like granola/ cliff bars, because you never know when you'll get hungry while driving :corn: .
I have more food related stuff for trips longer than an afternoon.

I always bring WAY to much food and drinks for myself (and wife). Plus we have the dog so he could become food if needed. :redneck:

I have an action packer with all my needed fluids and other necesities should I flop or hydro lock and need to drain something. Lots of hand tools.

First aid, tarps, straps, jack, shovel, etc.

When I'm in the buggy it gets cut down due to lack of space but not by much. I just don't carry things like saw, shovel, axe, etc.

Also big heavy contractor style trash bags work great in many ways. Picking up trash, poncho's, and if you do spill fluids you can dig up the dirt around the spill and put the dirt/oil into the bag.

I at all times in my rig have a hi-lift, tarp, rain gear, fire extinguisher and a *****en first aid kit. I can even stitch someone up:redneck: When I actually go out I have a Rubbermaid box that has a collapasable shovel, strap, shackles, chain, cable, axe, saw, snatch block, toilet paper, hand santitizer, garbage bags, cable ties, duct tape, some nuts and bolts, and wire. It gets heavy but is always loaded so I can just grab it and go. From there I pack a good assortment of tools and a decent size cooler. For spare trail parts I only have a front d-line and some u-joints. Should get some more come to think about it. The way I drive im on borrowed time.:D

Two buddys wheeling at our area in canada,rolled 8 times down a cliff into and area below the road and this is the only way to get the rig out of where i ended up....both of them got banged up pretty bad...but there better now.. The buggy owner is now building a new buggy and is almost done!!!:awesomework::beer: And thanks to Shanon Campbell for building stout buggys that saved some of my buddys lives!!:awesomework::beer:

An assortment of disco and alcohol and plenty for my friends, that way they can easily be persuaded to go back to camp and grab all the safety gear needed

I bring some basic tools, a little food and water. There's no where you can't walk out of in a day or so around here. Lot's of roads that are easy to walk to and follow out just too bad most of them are gated.
