then the ich came to built the **** out of it, so off to the crummy cell phone pics.

first came the 63" chevs and a home built rear bumper

truck has been doing great so far, a few snow wheeling trips, went to the new reiter trails 2 times. got a few dents on the rockers, but not too bad, sliders and a front bumper coming vary soon with the new bender my brother and i got at the swapmeet.

found a low mileage sr5 gauge cluster at picknpull, not sure how i got a 20k miles cluster from a 94' runner:D
IMAG0479_zpse41c402a.jpg

IMAG0481_zpse0a6da44.jpg

swapped out my oil sender and ran a tack wire, all done, super easy swap.

so the only issue ive had with the truck is the a340h in this thing sucks balls, shifts like crap, the tcase pops out of lowrange when i get flexed out. ect ect.
so on to a newer better setup
IMAG0478_zps5cd720c3.jpg

i want it to stay an auto:fawkdancesmiley:. so leave me alone, wife still needs to drive it.

a340f tg adapter gear case with 23spline input.

got the trans for 100$ on cragslist, the case came with a spare trans i found for my brothers truck, 50$. and bought the adapter from a friend that changed plans on his tacoma. 240$

just need a 23spline input and convert the tcase to topshift.

some pics from reiter, 3-9-13

what i could get with no one else around to get action shots.

tough day a few weeks ago. memorial service for a great friend and fellow yota wheeler diehard. brendon "chops" mehovilich passed away may 17th from a long battle of cancer at the age of 28. was glad to get the whole crew together in his honor and do a cruse around town to the memorial.

im the dork on the right....

on another happier note, truck kicks ass still, went camping a few weeks ago, made some sliders, clamped my RUF's finally, and made some brake line tabs up front.

more pics incoming......slow ass pc:shaking:

made a large order with davezoffroad, got duals?:masturbanana[1]:

tore down one forward shift case to get all the crawl box parts, just waiting on my package to arrive!

pile of parts from davez, not seen is triple sticks

my 48" long mess

shifters setup for test fitting, need to cut and straighten center shifter.

next on list tonight, tear into rear case for 23spline input install and clean off the 25 year old grime

triple sticks :bling::bling::masturbanana[1]::awesomework: any chance you wanna make me a steering stablizer setup??:hi:

I like the triple stick. Never played with one, how does it shift? My concern when looking only is they are too close together.....

triple sticks :bling::bling::masturbanana[1]::awesomework: any chance you wanna make me a steering stablizer setup??:hi:[/QUOTE

that thing was easy to make, just recycled all my ifs stuff, and a trip to lowes for some ubolts.

Good idea....i threw away my IFS crap years ago guess i will have to snag some somewhere

duals are done

now onto the problem at hand, figuring out the front speed sensor for the new trans

a340f speed sensor

a340h on the right, what is in the truck right now

i need to get the magnetic wheel off a a340h still, or find a a340f from a 4cyl truck to take parts from.

Thanks mike, its getting there. A few more things and in the garage it goes. Btw you have Any junk auto trannys sitting around? Need some a340 parts.

aside from still needing to get the extension housing machined for new speed sensor.......

out goes the old a340h:flipoff2:

found my exhaust leak, how many things wrong are in this pic??

my new toy i had to get after removing the old trans, 1ton H/F trans jack, looks sketchy but is extremely stable

nice tight fit

had to remove that bracket from the old tcase shifter, still need to push up the tunnel more

just a test fit of what im going for with the shifters

is 58" too long for a single rear shaft?? my stock double is 64", just cant decide if i should get rid of the double at this point or keep it?

just eyeballing a single rear driveline it will hang down way too low, so double it is.

ugh i hate waiting for parts to show up, spent some more time tonight on the shifters, got a final spot for the auto shifter, drilled the holes, then cut a cover plate to go over the giant hole left from the old stuff, then welded it to the auto shifter base. turned out ok, good thing the cover will hide it:redneck:

did some maintenance today...

new rear main and resealed the pan(that i did during the sas) since you cant take out the rear main plate with out the pan off:mad3:

then started to mount my junkyard trans cooler, from a 97' grand cherokee.

used a stock bolt hole on the grill support, then made a bracket coming up from the lower core support.

then opened up the stock hole to the right of the radiator to run the lines through, still need some bulk 5/16 soft line and hard line to finish it.

been putting along on this project, got the trans cooler finished, swapped over all needed parts to new trans, then installed a new filter and torque converter seal.

so trans goes in tonight for the last time i hope.

also got the rest of my parts ordered up. tcase crossmember, trans temp gauge, and some tcase mounts.

made alot of progress the last few days, every thing is built, bought, painted and done. just need to get the extension housing machined and put it all back togeather and add fluids.

drive lines done, had precision drive line in kirkland build the rear, 255$.

temp sensor for trans temp installed in return line, the one that goes into the rear of trans

props to budbuilt for selling me one of few remaining universal fit crossmembers

had to cut off that lip right below the d shaft, since im not running a CV up front my shaft gets alittle too close

beer box center console !

JK, made a sheet metal one, all one piece, was fun to bend

Nice build!!
I like how it appears like a pretty stock rig still.
Perfect choice for beer BTW. It would be cool to get a vinyl Rainier box wrap for the console!!:awesomework::beer::awesomework:
