Don't use powdered soap. There was 30' of this crap in the drain from the kitchen. It was worse. The hole you can see is from my first attempt at snaking it.:mad:

Wildfire right outside the town next to mine ruined my sunny day. Pictures were taken 1 hour apart this afternoon.

Went to Gold Bar to visit some of the wifes family. Went for a drive on the way home and took some pictures. All taken from the road except for the last one (was about 100 yards from the road).

Looks like a combination of cooking grease and possibly soap- but mostly grease (I do sewer video assessment for a municipality and I see lots of this nastiness). When you chip it out of the pipe it comes out all granular just like soap powder in the box, but the soaps typically are suspended solids in the flow and don't accumulate at the spring line of the pipe unless you have a swale and the water is completely stagnant.

Installing a grease trap like the restaurants do will catch this stuff before it enters your pipes. It really sucks when you've got slab-on-grade and have to buck out fifty feet of concrete to replace the pipe.

When I got to work Thursday morning I saw my headlights reflect of something under this terrible driver's car. Yup, that is a traffic cone wedged under there and there were no other cones anywhere around, so it had probably been there a while. When I was walking out of the building I saw her driving off, cone still wedged in the same place.
