Progress has been very slow. Actually, they have stopped. Looks like we will be moving up to Clarksville TN and I have decided to farm out the welding such as, roll cage and linking the front and rear axles. Does anyone know of a decent shop or person in the Clarksville area?

Hooker Motorsports in Ashland City. They're on facebook. If you aren't on there and need contact info, let me know. They do some pretty slick work.

Any updates on the truck project? How about the move?

We have officially relocated to Clarksville. Still getting settled in so not much has happened with the truck. I did reach out and talk with a couple of shops and they are all busy and it would be about a year to get in. A couple of people that I have talked with suggested that I replace the frame vs using the original 50 year old frame. So now I'm trying to decide do I:

1. Purchase a frame from WOD (most money)?
2. Find an LJ frame (Not as much money as WOD)?
3. Build my own from square tubing (maybe cheapest but, skill challenged)?

Good deal on the move to Clarksville and understandable on not much happening with the truck.

What's your end goal with the truck? Knowing that will help other recommend frame etc.

The best option would be to build your own frame. This will allow you to accommodate your drivetrain, suspension, body mounts, and other such items in the strongest fashion possible as you will be able to limit alot of compromises. That being said, if your skillset or time constraints dont allow for that, I would go with an LJ frame and run with it. Alot of suspension options, engine adapters, etc etc for that frame.

After a lot of going back and forth I have decided to scrap this project. I have 5 grand kids and a wife that loves to go wheeling so a two seater beater does not fit the bill. I already have a JKU that's a little more user friendly for the family so I think I'm just going to put a few $'s into it move on.

I'm planning on keeping the LQ9/4L65e and dumping it into the JKU. The rest will get parted out.

JK build isn't quite as interesting, but understandable.

I'm not a jeep fan, but I can see the value of a 4 dr jeep trail rig and why they are so popular.
