Since I have a trailer and no tow rig this weekend I was thinking of taking Naches pass trail over the mountains to the rocks. I'm wondering if this trail is open all the way through? Has anyone been there recently or will be there this weekend? Last time I attempted this it was closed on the west side- made for a long day.

Its open all the way over--it opens like july15 and closes like november 12/15(around there). But your better off just buzzing over pyramid pass--alot quicker....

its open I was up there a few weeks ago, the gate was closed at the trail to government meadows but there is other trails that all connect to it and you can go all the way over. I have a couple friends going over friday night but crash is right way faster and easier to go over pyramid.

Are they taking the trail then? I'll probably be there friday night too, look for the little red YJ lost in the dark :haha:

they are taking the trail but I guess there not getting on the trail till way way up 70. I have no clue where but thats what I have been told. if you see a guy in a purple tj tell him rick said he is an ass...:D :D

I can only assume hes talking about the gate on the maintance road for the cabin. Its always closed and is a $500.00 fine if you get caught in there with a motorized rig.

huh, ok, I never knew there was a maintenance road. :redneck: Does it come in from the back side or something?

it may be the maintenance road, I remember going up that spot once but it was 10 year ago or so but i took a left off the road onto a trail and ended up at the normal entrance to the cabin going over the trail. but again I may be remembering things wrong it was ten years ago.

Nice to meet you and your girl friend. Your welcome to wheel with us anytime. See you at the clean up.

The tow rig for the tow rig must have arrived and all home safely? Naches pass trail was lots of fun, did the entire thing, no gates, 3 hours on the trail, 7 hours total drive home. I'm looking forward to wheeling with you guys again at the clean up, should have frt locker by then and try some ****! BTW, did any of those pics show a plate # for the ****ers that were mudding?

They were between Moonrocks and Funnyrocks, someone tore up the meadow between 4:30 and 6:30 pm on Sunday. I'm not sure which assclown started the mess, but the dip**** I saw drive into it was an XJ. A very distinct XJ, so I'll describe it- white-ish color, smashed or missing grill, all top completely removed with a boxy, jungle gym looking cage with 90 degree pipe fittings, and balding tires, 32 inch or so. They're buddy who pulled them out of the mud was the doorless Grand Cherokee, in the background of the picture Mark posted. I think confiscating rigs should become more prevalent, where's the authorities when you need 'em?

I have a couple pics somewhere of a mud bog in that area from when I was out there a month or so back. Nobody around though, but it was fresh.

This spot was pristine meadow at 4:30 when I headed out Tripod trail. When I came back 2 hours later it was tore up bad. Unfortunately there were a hundred rigs in the area at that time so I don't know for sure who initiated the vandalism (it is vandalism), but I saw several fullsize rigs leaving the area with big boggers, not rock or trail rigs, but purpose built mud buggies. I'd have to assume they got bored with rocks and started getting other ideas. Again, I'm just making ASS-sumptions, didn't see it first hand.

Well whatever went down, that's just unbelievable. :booo:

I wish they'd put a couple web cams up there and monitor it and get plates and take appropriate action. They need to respond to the violators with harsh penalties. Word would get out. Put a sign up about how you could lose your vehicle, then have the authorities actually DO THAT!
