P0719 torque converter/Brake Switch B circut low

can someone explain to me how that makes my 96 burban fail smog and what to do to fix it?

my truck runs perfect. tranny does not slip.

ABS is bypassed mechanically.

i called the dude he says i have to fix it no other option unless a certified mechanic takes my money ($150 minimum) to tell me there is nothing wrong...then they will pass it?

What year is that thing again hippy?

Have you replaced your brake switch hip? That was a common code for a failing brake switch.

This is where the state has there hand up there ^$$^%*^&. Just because its a "P" code doesn't mean its engine related--bunch of tards...

no, the brake switch works fine and is existing. my brake controller ties into the wire but it all works ok...

The TCC circuit goes thru the brake switch and typically that part of the switch fails.. When that starts to happen thats where that code comes from...

so if i replace my brake switch it might go away?

could it be the same PN switch as one of the blazers i have....92 s-10? i have two of those:redneck:

Different-- you will need to replace it and clear the code. And the brake switch is held in by the jesus clip--you will understand that one once you replace it :awesomework:

the saga continues....

ok so the saga continues.
i changed the switch cleared the codes and drove it a couple a days. get to the smog station in the booth and the check engine light comes on again....

leave the station go to smucks next door disconnect the battery and go back. the obdII system is not ready to check so i cannot pass emissions...they tell me to go drive it ten or so miles and come back. at about 5 miles the check engine light comes back on.....

so its not the brake switch causing the code what else to look for?
