    I've been thinking

I was thinking for a 1st timer, rusted bolts, no air tools, not real sure what U are doing yet ect.:D For an old hand at it...............like 3hrs (need plenty of time for  in there)

    I've been thinking

I am NOT poking fun here, just calling like I see it:hi: Lifting an '84 'Yota is NOT rocket science! Buy a kit(used if pos.), a floor jack, some HF hand tools and a used set of 35's and do it your self in a weekend. U will get to know your truck A LOT better, save $$, and have the satisfaction...

    12 volt air compressor

I took my York 210, mounted it to a bracket, but a sprocket on the drive and use a SBC starter to run it. It makes MAD!!!!air. It will out run my 4hp 20gal. shop compressor hands down.:awesomework: :awesomework:

    air shocks on a DD

OK, NOW I'm lost:wtf: Are U talkin' 'bout Like "Pep Boys/Napa" air shocks? Or did U come up with a way to have nitro w/reg. plumed in all the time:eeek: And what type of "air shock" are we talkin' 'bout in this thread?!?!

    Will it hold???

Back to the Q: Mismatched plates IS the way to go, without rubber in 'em. If U want it to still let the cab flex a little do bushing mounts @ the frame. YJ leaf spring bushings fit nicely into 1.5" .120 DOM to make the bushing mounts out of.

    9" full floter conversion?

How did U mate the D60 housing ends to the new tubes? Did they slip IN or slip ON? How much insert or oversert:redneck: did U have to keep them aligned right?:corn:

    Toob Bender Hydro Conv.

That's about how I did my PT105HD as well, but I made my own stand. Works great. Still gota re-pin 1 time for 90* (still not sure how I did THAT:eeek: ) but it's WAY better than doing it manually. I got the ram off Ebay, $67.50 with shipping:awesomework:

    9" full floter conversion?

Any one done it @ home? I was thinking of machining some adapters(I have access to a mill and lathe) to bolt up a front spindle/hub ass. from a front axle and then just having axles made. I'm not sure what to use, I need a 5 on 5 1/2 pattern so I don't know if I can use D60 parts or not. Any...

    Multimount Winch setup?

I have been using mine with a 10,000lb for 3 years now without issue. Picked the truck up off the ground with it once to prove a point. (my welding skills) and it didn't even bend the pin. Bottom line: It's trustworthy.

    Costco 8000# winch

Sorry, had not been to Costco in a while:looser: Your right, they are not. The last time I was in there they had the Mile Marker/ HF winches for $339. Now I see they have some other style. Still looks similar tho.

    Costco 8000# winch

They are the same ones as the HF winches. Nothing wrong with them other than the slow line speed. I run the HF 10,000lb one with NO PROBLEMS! I had an 8,000lb HF that I burned up 2X, each time I took it back and got a new one NO QUESTIONS ASKED! The 10,000lb one has not given me whimper...

What is your favorite mod on your rig?

The OBA, makes better air than my shop compressor and the engine can be off:D Close 2nd would be the Readywelder, that thing ROCKS:bananallama:

    Good cheap angle grinder?

I'm a millwright by trade. We use the HF grinders @ the mill, get 'bout 6-8mo. out of 'em:awesomework: We used Makitas for years, and got 6-8mo out of them; at $110ea our cost:looser: With the HF we use the HELL out of 'em 'cus they are disposable:D

How hard would it be to make a spool?

OK, this is how I make spools: 1)Pull the cover (or 3rd mem.) and drain the fluid 2) Get a Q-tip or a reasonable facsimile and some acetone 3) clean JUST the area that U will be welding. (leaving the gear oil on the rest helps keep splatter from sticking) 4) Weld the side gears to the carrier...
