finally got my next project a gift from my Father-in-law a 1969 FJ 40 all original except for wheel and tires and seats 45,000 miles and runs like a champ, lets get this party started.

Fresh of the truck, the old soft top didn't make it on its trip from AZ

Started cutting off the miles of electrical tape and pad thinking the worst of rust found a beautiful surprise of shiny black

Next day thew a quick coat of wax and got her all cleaned up

Next is to clean up the engine and stuff

That is a beautiful fj. s it as rust free as it looks? I hope you arent going to be cutting this one up. What are your plans further than cleaning?
 
Ya very clean no rust except a few little surface spots were the paint was scratched.

this one is not going to get cut for that reason, probably going to convert to disk brakes ,power steering new seats, spring over maybe a shackle reversal and maybe 33s or some 35s, bring the cage to the back install a back seat for the fam. My plans for now are to make it a reliable forest service roads runner something to get in and just run up to the mountains. the engine is going to stay due the low low miles and it fires up perfect every time, just going to throw a tune up at it

fixed the bezel,first thing Ive had to fix on it Thanks

found this little bugger dad must have had secondary plans then just a present LOL
